Please note the photo attached to this review. What you are seeing is a broken broom handle that was provided for us to "Lock" our window at 11:00 pm after my wife had discovered that the window was not locked. More on that later. When we first arrived in the hotel lobby the blonde hair clerk was speaking to another couple checking in. We were standing there for quite a bit of time listening to her ramble on and on about all the things to do in the area without even acknowledging us. We could hear someone else behind the desk but no one came out. I had to interrupt her to ask where a restroom was for my wife. After a while later, she finally finished with them and got to us. I was already annoyed and just wanted to check in and was short with her. She gave us room keys that were not activated yet and other brochures of the area and we left. After being out and about for a couple of hours, we had decided not to stay at this facility due to the unprofessional staff and the condition of the facility it self. Just read the other poor reviews on this property and believe them! At this point we went back to the lobby and spoke to the " General Manager" Rick Caldwell, I went in there and asked right away if there was a way to get out of staying here as we had made reservations. He explained to me that due to there cancellation policy that I would be charged for the entire stay! (2 nights) Then he asked why, what was the problem. So I asked him if he really wanted to know. He said yes and I started to explain my self to him and what I had felt up to then. The blonde lady, started pipping in and interrupting me to the point that this turned into an argument in the lobby! I don't care if I was dead wrong! She should of NOT interrupted me and allowed me to finish my views without being rude! At this point, Rick was siding with her and this whole thing was like we were in the "Twilight Zone." We had not even see the room yet!! We left the lobby and retreated to our car for a while to cool down. I had to return to the lobby and get the room keys activated as we didn't get that done in all the commotion. We went to the room and the fun continued. The out side of the facility is gross! We were in room 206, a "Bridge View" room, if there wasn't trees and another building blocking it. The indoor/outdoor carpeting that is around the building is covered with moss and bird feces. There are two chairs on the outside to set on but there is NO way we would. The inside of the room left much to be desired. The carpet in the room was gross as well! In the corner of the room there were spider webs and the ceiling had been leaking at some time with all the water damage! We tried to make the best of it because we were bound to stay there without forfeiting our money. At around 11:00 pm that night, my wife went to check the door and windows in the room. She called on me when she discovered that the front widow to the room was not locked and she couldn't figure out how to lock it. I got up and looked at it and sure enough NO LOCK! I call the front desk and after I finally got someone, they sent maintenance up with a broken broom handle that you see in the picture! I wish I was making this up. By this time I was totally fed up! I had already tried contacting the owners of the facility to see if they would do anything and I was waiting for a reply. The next day we got up and left for the day. Late in the afternoon I was able to contact the owners daughter, as Phil, the owner didn't contact me back, and she said that she would review the tape of our interaction in the lobby. She called me back and allowed us to leave without being charged for the 2nd night, but fully supported her managers and staff! What a joke. I should of known better to reach out to the owners of this dump.Read the poor reviews and believe them. DO NOT stay here! The staff and the facility directly reflect how the owners feel about the people that stay here. This is a slum hotel and should be avoided...
Read moreI was looking forward to a great stay at this hotel but after arriving I wished we stayed somewhere else. After staying here these are the problems that I encountered.
Hotel conditions, When first walking into our room it was the normal hotel smell. Room air conditions, the room had to have been 90 plus degrees so we turn on the AC. The AC unit admitted this disgusting smell like someone had sex in the AC unit. So we had to open a window and turn on a fan, But wait we were on ground level and the parking lot is right up against our room so we had to close the tarp like blinds which restricted air flow. Now for the bed, The sheets were worn out with many rips and snags. the pillows where like pillows you'd find on a couch in a waiting room for a doctors office, tiny. everything else for the room was average. So now onto the amenities. Breakfast room reminded me of a poorly maintained McDonalds dinning area, grease and dirty. The pool area, needs to be closed down for maintenance. The Pool is located inside and you can tell/smell the room has mold issues (they have to industrial size dehumidifiers in the pool area) The handle for the hot tub is being held on by 2 rusty screws, the no slip rugs on the steps for the hot tub are ripped and weathered, and the overall water quality is that of a water puddle in the street.
Checking Out, what a nightmare. Halfway threw our 2 night stay I received a phone call from the hotel (Phone call was received prior to the final night) so I went to the front desk to see what the issue was. Upon asking they did not know why anyone at the hotel would be calling my cell phone so they said the disregarded it, so I did. The following morning at time of check out I was informed that I had a double booked reservation and that they had been trying to contact me for days. My cell phone history and conformation emails say other wise, only 1 phone call at 3:41 PM and no emails except the 1 conformation email I received from Wyndham. The manager said that I must pay full price for the second reservation (which I have no confirmation of) claiming that he had to turn away guests from this dump of a hotel because there was no rooms available (the vacancy sign was on out front). So I had to pay for 4 night when I only stayed 2. And let me tell you it was not cheap at $175 a night.
If you plan on staying here or are looking into staying here I would highly recommend finding another...
Read moreWe had so many problems with our stay. We stayed Father's Day weekend. We stayed in a suite but the first one had plumbing issues so we were moved to a different one. It had a bedroom with a bed, TV, and it's own air conditioning. There were two bathrooms and then in the main part there was a king bed, two pull out couches, a small table with one chair, full sized fridge, and three arm chairs. This area had it's own air conditioning. -The pool and hot tub were unavailable dur to repairs. If you asked the front desk about it, they gave you a list of other hotels you could swim at. -ALL the ice machines were broken, you had to go to a neighboring hotel to get ice. -Toilet seat was broke -Bathroom lock was broke so we kept getting locked in the bathroom. -No microwave in the room -Vending machine took our money, the front desk said there was nothing they could do -None of the doors to the outside locked. No security, anyone can walk in the building -No hot breakfast, which is kind of typical these days due to covid. There was a sign that said no breakfast. If you went and asked the front desk about it they would give you an apple, granola bar, and bottle of water (this to go breakfast was not advertised anywhere, you only knew if you asked) -There is no counter space. The coffee pot is on one of these small plastic tables that people use for drinks next to a lounge chair by a pool. -We called to make sure our room would be cleaned (we had diapers in the garbage) and they said it would. We got back at 8:30 and the dirty towels were taken and replaced. Nothing else was done. Garbages still full, no vaccuuming, no beds made. We asked the front desk and they said that if we had a sign on the door that they would not come in. We explained we had no sign, and they obviously came in to get towels. They sent someone up to change the garbages after we asked.
On our next visit we will stay elsewhere.
And all these 5 star reviews have to be fake and a friend of this "Rick" they keep mentioning. Not even exaggerating when I say I would sleep in my car before...
