Wawatam Park — Attraction in Mackinaw Township

This little park, is a true gem (that is free to use)! There is free 3 hour parking too. It has a small playground, a nice beach area on the shore of Lake Huron, great views of the Mackinaw Bridge, & bathrooms. There are also benches & picnic tables to use too. An old school small wooden playground for the kids. Has a few things that kept a 8 yr old way more content than a 2 yr old that could hardly traverse the structure. It seems part of the equipment are not what they used to be, but fun to a kid nonetheless. The beach is awesome and has a great view of the bridge to the left. This is a great spot for the family. We visit every year and enjoy the waves as the ferry’s pass by. Decent little playground, places to sit and eat, and even bathrooms. The restrooms can get dirty if people are jerks but typically not that bad.

Watch out for the gulls, they will attack your food if you’re not looking.
