The Wacky Taxidermy and Miniatures Museum — Attraction in Mackinaw Township

I walked past this place while visiting Mackinaw City and was pleasantly surprised that there was something new to check out. I was shocked that it was only $5 for admission. I was greeted by a very friendly woman who explained that her husband and her made everything in the museum. They had miniature accessories to purchase. These are perfect for the dollhouse enthusiasts. When I walked into the showroom, we were greeted with the cutest displays of miniature taxidermy. They had so many adorable displays that it brought out my inner child. The attention to detail on their displays was amazing. I spent 20 minutes in there and spotted something new the whole time. This place is PERFECT for families, children, young adults and grown adults! I was blown away how $5 could give me so much joy. I highly recommend checking this place out. Found out about this place from a little ad on a paper we found and was instantly interested. It is kinda hidden in the shopping plaza of Mackinaw City, but it's well worth the quick search if you are interested in taxidermy or strange and interesting things. The owners are amazing as well! They greet you at the door and try to have a conversation with you before you leave and will answer any questions you have for them. They also welcome dogs into the museum which is awesome because we had our two small dogs with us. We even ran into the husband while walking around and he let us pet his dogs and talked to us more while our dogs interacted.

This place is a must see! Such a great stop! The taxidermy art is so incredibly detailed and the puns aplenty. In a video review I saw, a woman said it was the best $5 she spent all vacation. I have to agree. It was 2 rooms full of all sorts of different set ups. I couldn't believe all of the details and effort that were put into these pieces! The longer I looked, the more things I'd notice. After touring the two rooms, we went back out and chatted with the owner for a bit. She was exceptionally kind and friendly, and gave us a lot of background on the art. All in all, we had a wonderful time and would definitely come again when we're in the area!
