First time to a Middle Eats. Decor is fun. Staff attentive and service pretty quick. Dining room was busy and staff did not appear readily available to clean tables. Staff was multitasking as they were busy! At any self seating setting I typically wipe my table with napkins when we leave in the event staff is busy as well as return chairs to their place. You can see staff grilling the food. Beef and chicken were tender but could have been better seasoned, maybe salt? Not sure what was missing, more garlic as it cooked? We did order the large hummus and added chicken, a very generous portion was served. I favor hummus but this had way too much tahini in it for my likes. The hummus was cold as if right out of the fridge. I know hummus needs to be stored as carefully, as say potato salad ,to stay safe. I just did not enjoy the very cold hummus with my warm chicken. The shrimp had a good bite as well as a nice seasoning to them but with a slight aftertaste if being in a freezer. We are not unfamiliar with Middle Eastern food. In fact this cuisine is a part of our heritage. It did lack that bright burst of flavor. I am not affiliated with House of Hummus, however , the food there is very bright in flavor and offers Gyro...
Read moreUnfortunately, I had a poor experience tonight. This was my first time eating from here. My girlfriend ordered a vegetarian schwarma wrap and I ordered a chicken schwarma wrap. My partner is vegetarian. I ate my wrap, but by the time my girlfriend sat down to eat, she saw that her wrap had chicken inside. It was probably a labeling mistake. These mistakes happen. I called and was asked to bring the receipt back and then they'd make a new veggie wrap there. I came back and the nice lady over the phone took my receipt.
From where I was waiting, the cooks were visible. I heard them talking about our order and gesturing angrily about it for a couple minutes. I saw one look over at me. When the nice cashier came back, I showed her these photos and promised I wasn't engaged in some 30-minute long conspiracy just to get a veggie wrap. She said no worries but that I should bring both wraps back next time.
The food was good. But I didn't appreciate being made out to be some sort of criminal in front of several of the staff - I was just trying to make sure my girlfriend was able to eat our...
Read moreI've tried middle eats three times. First time was fantastic and I was excited to try it again.
The second time wasn't great, I showed up near close so I understand the the quality wouldn't be perfect, the meat was dry and cold and they put practically no sauce on the wrap. Ok that's on me figured it was because they were on a rush to get out of there. Thought I'd try again.
3rd time I ordered in person and I thought it would be made to order, they were cooking on the grill. I live 5 minutes away, but when I opened it the sauce was so sloppy all over the the outside of the wrap, complete mess. In addition the meat was cold even though it was eaten a few minutes after being ordered.
I have to wonder if this was because it was the first time I didn't tip. I left a tip the first two times, but honestly don't think that should be an expectation from workers, I worked in food service for years and tips was never assumed or effected how we prepared the meal. Quality shouldn't be effected on lack of a tip, and it shouldn't be an expectation at...
