Papouli's Mediterranean Cafe and Market — Restaurant in Macon

I used to love the food at this restaurant. I had the unfortunate experience of ordering a falafel sandwich using Uber Eats; the staff neglected to put the pita (pretty much the most important part of a sandwich) in the order. Now, I don’t mind paying almost $9 for 3 cold pieces of falafel and some lettuce, what I DO mind is that when I called to inform them of this mistake and requested that my order be actually completed, I got the absolute worst attitude a person who has made a mistake really should ever have. It’s ok that the staff person was likely raised very poorly and therefore did not even have the ability to apologize, but she refused to complete my order, refused to put a manager on the phone, refused to provide the manager or owner’s names (THAT was funny) and basically told me she did not care about my business. The most fascinating part is that I tried to alert the business via their website that this is what goes on when there is no manager on duty and they don’t even have the decency to reply. So yeah, food is ok if it’s eaten when it’s made but what arrived at my house was kind of disgusting.....the tabouli was old and the tomatoes were at the rotting stage....no thank you. Really sad, but thank goodness there are so many excellent restaurants who will be happy to gain a new customer, places where the staff is capable of checking orders before they leave and valuing their customers. My experience at this restaurant went downhill after receiving two unappetizing orders. I ordered the meals from UberEATS and after receiving the order in an unexpected 10 mins. I came to find out that the meals were burnt and impossible to consume. So I reached out to the restaurant in a timely manner (30mins) and explained that the food quality was not up to their regular standard to both Kourtney and Chris (managers). I went on to explain that I would greatly appreciate having the meals replaced and that I would pick them up once the order was ready. However, the conversation went south when both managers explained in an unprofessional way, that it was not their fault and will not have it replaced. Long story short, the food might not have been up to their regular standard, as I typically order twice a week from the restaurant. But the communication message was completely unacceptable from both managers! I will no longer support this restaurant nor recommend this location to friends and family, as their customer service is disappointing/disgraceful. I hope management shares some advice that customer service...

I have eaten at Papouli's many times and always love the food and atmosphere. Today was different...it was memorable. Greeks know good Greek food-... duh :) But today, I wanted to surprise my Greek Thea (Aunt) who lives in Atlanta by taking her a Greek meal. I was taking my father (both are in their 80's) for a visit and wanted the meal to be reminiscent of the beautiful Greek meals my aunt has prepared through the years. I ordered the Chicken Riganato, Greek Style Potatoes, Greek Salad, Fresh Bread and Hummus. I knew we would be reheating the food since we had the 1 1/2 hour drive from Macon, but I was hopeful. Papouli's did not disappoint. The hummus was heavenly, the chicken was sooo tender and moist, the spices exactly as they should be, potatoes were perfect and the Greek salad and salad dressing was just like my Greek family loves. We spent a couple of hours around the kitchen table at my Aunt's and caught up on life, shared memories and enjoyed a perfect Greek meal. Bravo, Papouli's! If you love Greek food- go to Papouli's!!!
