How did CRAIG become a manager? I came in and ordered a filet for my wife and a steak for myself. I don't normally order appetizers because I can't eat an appetizer and a full meal. I do however really like the tater skins. Well, I'm from Macon however I've lived in Newnan for the last three years and have gone to that Texas Roadhouse two to three times a week as it was very convenient from where I was living. I expressed to a waitress sometime ago how much I liked the tater skins and she told me that I could get them as a side for an upcharge. The same upcharge as a loaded baked potato. It's the same ingredients except that it's cut into four wedges instead of split down the middle. I ordered this item a few days ago with no problem here in Macon. The waitress I had went and asked a manager and it was confirmed that it's not on the menu however is something that's in fact available upon request. For an upcharge which I'm fully aware of. Not tonight!!! CRAIG comes to my table to inform me that I would not be ordering it tonight. His inability to listen and customer service skills are well below the standard and would better be served at say, the golden arches!!! This was not my first interaction with CRAIG. I spoke to him a few weeks ago when I first came back to town. He was a jerk then as well!!! It was their plasticware policy. If you are dining in then you cannot request plasticware. My wife prefers plasticware because we've had some bad experiences with dirty silverware. Don't go here if you want to dine in and want plasticware. It won't happen!!! I spoke to Brett the managing partner and he was firm in regards to plasticware and to go cups inside the restaurant. He brought up some valid points however, I still disagree with him. It's also a store policy not a chain policy. I will mention that Texas Roadhouse in Macon did an exemptional job handling Covid-19 by setting up in the parking lot and spacing out picnic tables so those that wanted to eat away from home could do so. I also appreciate the chain recognizing veterans each year for veterans day and providing a veteran discount on meals. I will also mention that the steaks are hand cut in the restaurant and the filet is a true filet and not a top sirloin. You can also get a large steak without a bone unlike other chain steakhouses. When cost outweighs the benefit it's time to cut ties. In this case, cost isn't monetary. It's a good enough value that this location has lost focus on customer service. Logans which is a similar concept did the same thing in Macon. Where are they now? Closed...
Read moreWas a very busy night, which was expected considering it's the holiday season. I ordered a 20 oz bone in ribeye, with fresh veggies and mashed potatoes. The veggies tasted nasty, and were cold, but that wasn't even the worst part. I ordered my steak medium rare. The steak comes out, I put my A1 sauce in my steak, as I always do. I take a cpl bites and the outer part of my steak wasn't bad. I cut again, closer to the center, amd find my steak is still rare there. Looked like all they did was sear it tbh. I advise the wait staff of the problem, and they say no problem sir we'll fix that for you. Now comes the part that made me the most upset. The MANAGER brings back my steak amd asks me to cut into it to make sure it's at the right temp. I take the steak from the tray, and tell the manager, "Of course the steaks gonna be the right temp this time. You guys took my steak i sent back amd put it back on the grill to cook longer." Never in my life have I ever had someone throw the same steak back on the grill because it wasn't cooked long enough. I had only taken 2 bites of the steak, so it's not like I was trying to get another whole steak for free because I ate almost all of it. In my opinion, that's unsanitary, and just not good service or good food. You put a steak someone's eaten already amdbout it on a grill with food that hasn't been touched yet. Even Gordon Ramsey would say that's disgusting amd unsanitary. I will not be eating there anytime soon. Oh yea the manager also ducked into the back when I started complaining, and left our waiter to take the heat. No explanation, apology, or anything from the manager. Didn't even wait to see if it was at the temp I requested. From what I understand and was told, that is their policy. When your food is undercooked they put it back on the grill and bring it to the temp u asked for. They do it to save waste. ...
Read moreMy experience at this Texas Roadhouse started great, from the moment I walked in the door. I was greeted by the staff at the front door with a smile and a welcoming "hello". As the young lady walked me to my seat, she asked me, "how was your last visit here?" I was kind of shocked, as no one had ever asked me anything like that before. I answered her, "well, this is my first time at this location. I love Texas Roadhouse back home, but this is my first time here."
When the waiter came to my table (Mark), he was awesome. Very polite, very professional, and acted like he genuinely wanted to be there. That's not something you get much anymore. The service he provided was beyond exceptional. That fact, coupled with his attitude, was enough for me to give this place 5 stars.
Then, the manager (Tami) came by my table to welcome me as a "first time guest". Again, I was pleasantly surprised. She was just as kind and caring as everyone else I had encountered thus far, and she invited me to install the app and gave me a Texas Roadhouse koozie.
Then the food arrived... Let me just start by saying that I've devoured many steaks over my lifetime. Steak is my most favorite meal, so I genuinely consider myself a steak connoisseur. This steak was cooked exactly how I ordered it, it was extremely juicy, and was as tender as I've ever had. I always eat my steak with a sauce, but this steak was better without one, so I didn't even dip it.
I travel a lot for work, and unfortunately I have to eat out a lot. This was the best experience I've had in a long time at a restaurant.
As I sit here writing this at the Texas Roadhouse table, I am again away from home for work. This is my 15 year wedding anniversary, and this whole experience made being away from my family so much easier, and I truly...
