The Candy Kitchen is a must stop for anyone with a sweet tooth. It’s a whole experience that’s perfect for families and kids! Expect to find every kind of confection imaginable - ice cream, cans of soda, old fashioned candy and suckers, candy bins for bulk candy, mechanical toys with candy, bottled sodas, fresh fudge, sundaes, malts, shakes, floats, pop rocks, cotton candy, big bags of candy, candy bars, banana splits, taffy… if it’s sweet, it’s probably here. My husband tried to order two different kinds of fudge, but it was Saturday and both were sold out. I got the ice cream on a waffle cone and both the Pistachio and Coconut ice creams were dreamy! The parking lot is small and the lines are often long because it’s a very small room, but every available space is filled with sugar filled treats and is a popular place for both tourists and locals!

Asked for sprinkle gummy bears was given this instead. Tipped 3 dollars the girl in front of me was allowed to use the restroom she gave the employee attitude we were nice and tipped and they wouldn't let my girlfriend use the bathroom.. the young man working last night before closing on Sept 28 was nice the girl was not she told the young man to not let us use the restroom but she directly engaged with previous customers who gave her a hard time and she let them use the restroom. She also gave us 5 dollars worth of the wrong candy so out of the 30 dollars we spend 1 third of it was wasted on candy we didn't want and a tip that wasn't deserved. I'm a 38 year st pete native. I don't appreciate these out of town employees bringing their bad vices and vibes to the city of st pete keep it beautiful and keep ugly ppl out

The Candy Kitchen is a great spot for Homemade icecream and fudge. There are frozen bananas, sundays shakes and malts, jawbreakers as big as 4 inches, old time candy sticks, Pez, licorice, taffy, not too mention all the other types of candy. They used to have candy bars both room temprature and frozen (I don't know if they still do that), bottles of Nehi, Cheer Wine, and other nostalgic items like balsa wood airplanes, wax lips, and sipping birds. My family has been coming for several generations. I love the look on my kids faces when they walk in the door, and see all the candy that is within reach. For me it really isn't a trip to Maderia Beach without a stop at the Candy Kitchen.

I LOVE THIS PLACE!! I was born and raised here in St.Pete for my whole life and this ice cream shop holds so many great memories in my mind. They have been here for ages and have such a cool shop, environment, ice cream and other types of sweats.

Unfortunately, after both Hurricane Helene and Milton the shop interior and exterior was damaged greatly, so they had to renovate a lot of it. The burying still looks the same on the outside, but the inside is completely redone. There’s more space for customers to enter and walk around, but it clearly more cramped now for the employees in the back. I really do miss the original look, but things come and go. It’s still the same place in my mind, just looks different, and the ice cream and sweats are all the same, so don’t be upset that it’ll be different.

Candy Kitchen has two locations, and this is the original one. I really prefer this one over the other just because it means more to me. However, the other cite is much bigger with more options, so if that’s more to your liking it’s just north of the main Madeira Beach entrance.

Overall, love this place. Top ten places in all of St. Pete to me. The employees are all amazing and do so much. Cozy and retro environment, cool sweats and ice cream flavors, and overall just big highlight of...

I loved this place grew up near there but we went the other day and 3 of us got our single scoop which is two small scoops of ice cream. Banana one is my ultimate favorite one there best hands down! Only issue we had was my aunt bought a hot fudge Sunday. Ours was around 4$ for our single scoops but that’s to be expected since it’s on the beach no issue there but hers was over 6$ for same amount of ice cream not really a issue the problem was there was no hot fudge on top so when my aunt dug to the bottom there was I kid you not a quarter size dollop of fudge? Tiny tiny bit an tiny bit of whipped cream? 2 and some change more $ for the same amount of icecream for a quarter sized spot of fudge. Smh that was disappointing. I don’t recommend the hot fudge sundays don’t waste your money on that. Just get your single scoop if you want some. Or buy a half gallon of bluebell for 6$ and have many cones. Up to you but make sure they give you fair amount for the price because my aunt was so bummed out over that fudge 0 out of 10 stars. If you knew just how awesome my aunt was and how much she’s does for EVERYONE even strangers she deserves her fudge lol. I still love the banana icecream that one deserves...

what can I say about the Candy kitchen I have been going there since I was probably 5 my name is written all over that place I remember when they had their first child and and I remember going back into the back and helping them make homemade ice cream as a kid because I was there so much that they pretty much like babysitters to me down the street from there and they just let me hang out so often and it was like a family that was amazing remember so many good times being there and just the killer Sundays and then my mother pitching a fit about spending money there so much and so she started buying me all the stuff to make them at home and I would just go there to buy chunks of fudge and we would make killer Sundays at home and it saved her some money and I was always happy. I am so thankful that they are still open I hope they never close and I hope it never changes and every time I go to Madeira Beach area can I get a chance to go the there to see how it's evolving. But never changingit's an amazing place and I'm so thankful that it's...
