Zeno's Boardwalk Sweet Shop — Restaurant in Madeira Beach

We did not buy any of the taffy. I wish we had instead, because it seems to get good reviews. I gave this one star because my son said that the 2 chocolates that he picked out were very good. But the fudge was NOT ! Unfortunately, we didn't know this until we had spent $30 for ¾ of a pound. My husband and son both said that the Cookies and Cream they had picked out had a weird flavor. I had asked for a sample of the Toffee Caramel, but the owner said that they didn't give samples. That should have been my warning. The chunk that she sold me was completely hard and dry on one side. I cut a few bits off the other side, which was getting hard also, and decided it didn't taste good enough to bother with. None of us even bothered to try the Peanut Butter. The bag sat on our counter for a couple of days, no one wanted any so we threw it away. We love to buy fudge at fairs and festivals, and it is normally fresh and soft and delicious, and worth the rather high price. THIS WAS NOT. If you go in Zeno's, stick...

Good taffy! Even better staff! (owner?)

Wife and I made a trip out there for taffy, I wanted something local and though I live in Tampa, this is a nice opportunity for a relaxing drive.

Shop is a little harder to get to if you drive directly there, as it's on the boardwalk and parking in the area isn't the best. Expect to pay a few bucks for the tight parking garage.

The store is a good small size, but absolutely packed with product. All sorts of flavors for everyone, from traditional herbal mint flavors and rooty licorice, to bright fruit flavors, and mixed concoctions in between.

You have the options of building your own mixes or picking up mixed bags.

We ended up buying two large mix bags, and have gone a bit through one so far. Of the 100+ flavors, I can confidently say I've only found one that I didn't care for, everything else has been great.

I gave this place 3 stars only because the Owner was a not being honest and milking us for more money. The taffy we got was GREAT! BUT BEWARE OF THE LATE 50s - EARLY 60s brunette. She will not weigh the bag properly by lifting it a little then telling you aprox how many more you can add then lo and behold you go over the weight and she will not allow you to put any back! This happened tonight. We were getting a pound and she lifted the bag when weighing it then told us we have aprox 45 pieces left to add. I added 25 pieces and we were over. My sister went next and the same dam thing happened. Don't let her get away with that and you should be ok. She is kinda surely but trying to have a smile. Called my kid annoying for asking about the taffy puller...
