Bombay Fast Cafe — Restaurant in Madison

So so good! I’m always craving Indian food of all types, so having a new spot to go to grab a quick lunch is so welcomed in Madison, especially when most of the other spots are more sit-down restaurant style.

I tried them this past Friday (graduation weekend and campus was packed with students and families) and while there wasn’t a huge line, the food took a few minutes because the Vada Pav (potato “burgers”) I ordered were freshly fried - I was happy to wait and it was so worth it! A delicious and unique lunch in downtown Madison for under $10 (with tip)!

I was so happy to taste the lingering delicate spice in my mouth after each bite - finding spicy food in Madison is rare and I think it was just the right level for people to enjoy it but not be overwhelmed by it.. given it was 92 degrees that day I didn’t eat the pepper on the rice but will definitely give it a try next time! Bombay Fast Cafe is truly delicious.

The food truck is located on the Library Mall. I have gone regularly for lunch, and tried all the items on their menu multiple times - Pav Bhaji, Misal Pav, Vada Pav and Bombay Falafel. My favorites are the Vada Pav and Bombay Falafel. The falafels are so savory and flavorful!! The food is also affordable, and the serving sizes are great! They even use reusable Tupperware to decrease environmental waste.

This athentic Indian food is beyond delicious. The couple who own and run the food truck are truly splendid, kind, caring, friendly, and gracious. And Rama is a phenomenal cook!! You can tell they work very hard and are proud of the business they put so much hard work, love, and care into.

I visited this joint a couple of days back when I was traveling to Minneapolis. At first, I did not know this was a food truck! I was looking around and I eventually managed to find this on State St. I rolled in right at closing time, around 4 pm. The folks there were wrapping up for the day but the kind lady did not want to turn me down. She asked me what I would like and the gentleman who was with her prepared my order patiently and with great care. I was very impressed with their work ethic and their kindness. I also paid through their Venmo account which is very convenient.

And by the way, the food was excellent. I had the Misal Pav and the the Pav Bhaji. Very nicely packed and the flavors were amazing. Well done. I will definitely pay you...
