I stopped in here today with my wife and a colleague from out of town and we were all very satisfied with our meals. My wife and I are vegans and Forage is obviously very vegan-friendly, but I liked how knowledgeable the girls behind the counter were of animal products. You'd be surprised how many restaurants don't know what is in their dressings! Not so at Forager, since they make their own in-house. My wife and I each had a $6.50 make-your-own salad and they were extremely filling. Our colleague had one of the special salads and was stuffed for the rest of the day. We all split a goji acai bowl in two bowls for a dessert.
I'd highly recommend walking down to Forage from the Capitol Farmer's Market for a better lunch option than what the junk-food vendors offer around the square.
The best thing about eating plants is that there is no indigestion or heaviness afterward. By replacing meats with plants, you eliminate cancer, diabetes, heart disease, diseases of inflammation, and obesity. If you do the research, all are directly attributed to the consumption of meat, dairy, and eggs. For more information, watch Forks Over Knives, or read ANY non-industry funded large-scale/long-term clinical study: The China Study, The Adventist Health Study, The Nurses Health Study, PREDIMED, the Epic Health Study, etc. There is no question in the scientific community that meat consumption is extremely dangerous, so much so that processed meats are even declared Class-1 carcinogens in the US. That should alarm you when ALL meat sold in the US is processed with chemicals for preservation, even the expensive "local" garbage.

Read morei ordered a power bowl today and asked for kale to be added to it (because that was an order than one of my friends previously suggested to me) and the man taking my order questioned if i wanted to replace one of the other ingredients with the kale. I wasn't familiar with this order so I just asked if he could add kale to it, and he agreed but with a slight attitude. When he brought it to the cashier he put an emphasis on the "kale" part of my order, to which the cashier replaced "with kale? that makes no sense". He then replied back to her with attitude saying "i know it doesnt make sense thats why I was confused". I was standing right in front of them for this encounter and honestly they were just very rude and judgmental and were talking very loudly so it was clear that they knew I could hear. If what I had ordered "didn't make sense" then I would've liked an explanation earlier on rather than them just judging what i got right in...
Read moreI have been to this location several times in the past few years. I tend to go to other Forage Kitchens in the area mainly because the people who work here don't always take care to notice what they are putting in the food. A couple of years ago, a guy who worked here cut my wrap while it was still wrapped in the tinfoil so I had bits of it in my food. That is definitely not okay nor edible! I complained but all I got was "I'm sorry" nothing to correct or better the problem.
Today I ordered a plate and this extremely long string like thing was attached to one of the green beans. I complained and was told it was a part of the green bean. Even so would you eat that?? Do not serve something to me that you would not eat. It literally looks like floss to me. I do not like that i have to be extremely vigilant about looking at my food to make sure...
