Long Story- worth the read: I tried them when they first opened up in Magnolia, eons ago. Although their guacamole was really good, their food entrees were average - very little flavor in rice/beans (having worked for food supply company, they both had the signature SYSCO food supply taste... from cans and pre-made), and their meats were also lackluster in flavor. We gave them many months to adjust, but after a second visit, there was still no improvement. So then I gave them another few years. By then, service had gone way down - not only in attitude, but also with wrong items in an order, wrong "whole" orders, wrong drinks - and service people seemed like they could care less. Even worse, the MANAGERS attitudes and responses were the same, with an almost accusatory theme towards us, the customers, like we shouldn't complain about anything - even if it was wrong. Now, tonight, about 6-ish years later, I didn't want another burger, so I tried again, but this time in the Drive-Thru. I looked over their menu, then ordered the Beef Fajita Enchiladas. The girl in the speaker asked me if I wanted Beef Fajita or Hamburger beef...!!! I thought to myself... Huh? What? To START, "Fajita" means Grilled Strips of Spiced Beef (or Chicken)... NOT hamburger. But I obliged and answered "Beef Fajita", just in case she was new, or didn't "speak" Spanish, and didn't know what Fajita means. I also ordered a side of Queso - and on second thought, added... "I'm assuming that chips do come with my order of Queso, correct?", and she replied, "Yes, of course". I get home with my food... open the box, and my 3 rolled flour tortillas are covered in nothing but queso cheese. I saw a small piece of meat floating out the end, and after unrolling the 3 tortillas, realized I had HAMBURGER, NOT FAJITA!!! So I called to complain about my wrong order, and having paid a lot more for what I got, than what I received. The girl I spoke with was the same one that I ordered from at their speaker. Upon my inquiry as to why I had HAMBURGER and not FAJITA inside... PLUS there wasn't ANY ENCHILADA sauce... she said - "Well, you ordered the Fajita Al Carbon". I had not... "Al Carbon" never even came out of my mouth, and I reiterated our exact speaker conversation to her, reminding her of her own question of "Fajita Beef or Hamburger Beef". She flat argued with me that I got what I ordered. No offer to fix, no apology, no attempt at anything except her own repeated defense, insisting that I was wrong. I finally gave up, and after hanging up, realized that she had CHARGED ME for the chips that she had confirmed "of course" came with my order of Queso. Long story short... Lots of money wasted at this establishment - AGAIN... Soooo - NEVER Again... And I will ABSOLUTELY let everyone I know about their tasteless food, their disregard to customers as servers and managers, that they will lie and only ever defend themselves, and every other experience I've had with them - from not so good, to horrible. Too bad there's not a Lemon Law for places...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI want to love this place but today was our 2nd and last time, unfortunately. The 1st time, Addie, one of the 3 owners/sisters was our server and came up with a dish for me because I'm vegan and options are very limited. I enjoyed it enough to come back, especially because she took the time and effort for me and she was kind and helpful. She even alerted us that it was happy hour and so my husband got a margarita. We went again today and we knew about happy hour so we each ordered a regular margarita. I got the same street tacos with cactus but last time was too much onion so I asked our server for suggestions and we looked through the menu and came up with roasted corn and bell peppers. As it turned out they were.out of roasted corn. I get it. It happens. So I got lettuce and tomatoes. Everything came out separate, not on the tacos. Only the cactus on the tortillas. Presentation matters. And it wasn't very good, and our server explained that Addie loved cooking and coming up with ideas but the kitchen tonight doesn't do that. Too bad for me. I know my requests are unique but pretty much everywhere I go, I find something good to eat. At least most everywhere tries. So, the food was a.major bummer. But the icing on the cake was upon checking out, the bill seemed high and come to find out, the regular margaritas are not on happy hour just jumbo. The regular and jumbo are the same price during happy hour. Why didn't our server say that? Also, we got charged extra for the bell peppers.. All they could say was they were sorry. We paid our $60 bill (20% tip included) and left. Sorry 5 de Mayo,...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWent here bc it was reviewed so highly, was sadly disappointed. I came from a largely Mexican populated area in Alief to Hockley. Read about this place and wanted to try it bc I was craving some good Mexican food. Got here and it seemed like you typical Mexican food joint with the colorful decor and the music but the 2 red salsa that came out with the chips were gross, I had asked for other options for salsas and I was brought a green sauce with was great and a habanero sauce which was not as good as the green sauce but much better than the horrible 2 red sauces. I was told about a very spicy black sauce but they were out. Ordered my Mexican street tacos and they were much better but not great. I would say average at best. The wife got A gordita with chicharon in the green sauce. Also not great. Kids got a fajita burrito and chicken nuggets. Burrito was good but in my opinion fajitas are very hard to mess up but that's just me. The chunky guacamole was definitely not made fresh but really didn't expect it to be made to order. It was very lemony, which is a trick used to keep it from browning, also the tomatoes were not red and not ripe for eating. I was highly disappointed in my dining experience and will probably not return. Staff was very friendly, but food was just...
