I didnât expect to see a brookshire here in magnolia I grew up with one in my hometown and never seen another one since. So this store actually gave me so much nostalgia but it doesnât look like how it did in my hometown. Anyways itâs a nice store doesnât have a lot of the stuff I was looking for but Iâm not complaining. But I do have one problem and itâs gonna sound kinda funnyđ I really think this store should stop with the pure pressure of selling samples. Which probably sounds weird that Iâm complaining about bc who doesnât love samples? I used to enjoy this but I started trying to avoid it bc I get anxious when it comes to coming in contact with people I donât know how to turn away. So maybe this is a little bit of a me problem but one of the samples had a hair right on top of it and I didnât know how to tell the lady no. I didnât wanna be mean but I seriously canât avoid these ladies. I know they mean no harm they are super sweet but I just wish they would stop walking up to me with samples and getting me to buy sushiđ I bought one once and I donât even eat sushie. Again I know itâs probably just me but I have to avoid that whole section of the store bc I just donât wanna be...
Read moreBrookshire Brothers is the only grocery store conveniently located in "old" Magnolia. They have a few things there that I do shop for; however, I find them to be overpriced overall. For example, they sell Butterball frozen turkey burgers and so does HEB. Brookshire charges $3 more than HEB does for the exact same burgers. There are more items like that throughout the store.
What causes me to shop there from time to time is that they do a good job of offering specialty items that I can't find elsewhere. For instance, they had a floor display of Twinings cold brew ice tea in four different varieties. They had another floor display of Good Girl's gluten free birthday cake cookies. I go into Brookshire just see what new floor displays do they have that might appeal to me.
The staff is helpful in a very cut and dry business manner. I wouldn't consider them to be warm and inviting. However, I a firm believer that has to do with the culture of the company and the leadership of the store. That's with any...
Read moreLate this afternoon I went shopping. After arriving home, I learned two new things. If a Rotisserie chicken is all steamed up and not very warm, don't buy it. Also, if a container of coleslaw is wet on the outside, inspect every part of the container for cracks. I don't get around very well any more. And I'm just chucking both items in the trash, because it's trash day tomorrow. I know I could have returned both items and got a refund but the inconvenience to me is not worth the trouble. I'm praying sometime in the next few days I'll be up to going to HEB or Kroger to get another chicken. The chicken was to be my main source of protein for a week. But when I have to spit rotten meat out from two different spots of a bird I ain't gonna risk trying another bite. Very nice people working. But someone needs to put forth a bit better effort. That was nasty and I hope no one else had the same experience. There was a few more chickens in the case. With the prices being charged for food, this...
