I went at 9:00 pm on 4/21.
Everyone was finishing sidework to get out of there. I waited too long to get someone’s attention to seat me.
The “waiter” eventually showed up. VERY inattentive—like I had to keep getting up to ask him for things. Like my margarita that took FOREVER The guy never checked on me AT ALL during my meal, and I waited about 10 minutes after until I got up to go find him to get the check. I told him he had not done a good job, and that he blown me off. He agreed and mumbled an apology. HE WASNT BUSY WITH OTHER TABLES—HE WAS JUST TRYING TO FINISH HIS SIDE WORK AND LEAVE.
He later admitted he wasn’t a waiter.

The food was thoroughly mediocre. I LEFT an enchilada, which I NEVER do. The chicken was flavorless and chewy, the green sauce was weak, the beans were mushy and mealy. The chips were VERY crunchy—best part, actually. Margarita was adequate. Salsa was pretty good, too.
I went to the old blue iguana, and I recall it being pretty good. Didn’t think it was possible to get Tex-Mex THIS bland in Texas, but, here we are…
Bottom line, if in Magnolia, go to Las Fuentes or El Rancho Grande, or 5 De Mayo. WAAAAY better service and much...
Read moreMy husband and I decided to try this place because it's busy a lot. We were really disappointed. The service was horrible and while we were there it was not busy. We ordered a queso for an appetizer and needed more chips when it came. I asked the girl bringing chips to the tables, then several minutes later asked our server, then finally brought the basket to the hostess because our queso was warm at best by then. About the time we finally got chips for our queso, the entrees arrived. I ordered the chicken tortilla soup which was pretty bland. My husband got a chimchanga which was about the same price but smaller than what he's used to getting at the regular Mexican place we go to down the street. During our entrees we asked for the check so we could just go, the server brought us the check then we started the waiting game again for him to pick it up. We are not high maintenance diners, and we felt pretty much ignored and given the literal bare minimum of service we could have gotten. We will stick to our regular spot down the street. This visit was really disappointing and we won't be returning to or recommending this...
Read moreThe salsa is really good to me because it's been very spicy and consistent in flavor/texture the 3 times we have been there since they opened a couple months ago and I love spicy salsa. The tacos are also good and the Charro beans are the best tasting I've had. Three stars is for the service which is slower overall than it should be. We should not have to ask for more salsa/chips and then wonder where the server went or if they forgot about us. Or if they ask if we want more chips/salsa and then we also wonder where they went. Also shouldn't have to be looking for our server for our ticket is when it's time to go. ---- 4 months later food is still good and service is still lacking. They are still stingy with drink and chip/salsa refills and napkins. Last night after we got our food the waitress didn't come around again until I had finished my dish. No one ever came during that time to see if we needed anything. If it weren't for my hub still wanting to go here we wouldn't...
