Rude and Unprofessional Cashier Completely Ruined the Experience
I am extremely disappointed by the way my mom and I were treated during our recent visit. The food may have been good, but the behavior of the cashier — a man in a green shirt — was rude, unprofessional, and completely inappropriate, especially for someone representing the business on the front lines.
We ordered a large amount of food for just the two of us. My mom, anticipating a messy meal, grabbed a good number of napkins — not an unreasonable thing to do when dining in. But as soon as the cashier brought our food to the table, he immediately commented in a condescending tone, “Why so many tissues?”
We were both caught off guard. I calmly responded, “I apologize — my mom grabbed a lot. If it’s a problem, you can take them.” He awkwardly smiled, clearly realizing how out of line he was, and said, “No, it’s okay.” At that point, I thought the situation was over.
But instead of letting it go, he continued to make it uncomfortable. My mom, trying to ease the awkwardness he created, tried to make small talk while he was cleaning nearby. She said, “The food is very good, thank you,” just to be polite.
And unbelievably, while we were still eating, he came back to our table to bring up the napkin issue again. He said, “Sorry about the napkins. If management sees you take that many, they’ll say something to me. That’s why I said something earlier.”
That was completely inappropriate. We were mid-meal, and he interrupted us not once, but twice to talk about something as petty as napkins. I had already apologized, and there was absolutely no need to approach us again. I told him directly, “I’m a customer here, eating. I already apologized. Have a good day, sir. Bye.”
Honestly, the cashier’s behavior made the whole dining experience uncomfortable and awkward. If napkin use is such a serious issue, it should be communicated clearly with signs or handled discreetly — not by confronting customers while they’re trying to enjoy their meal.
There is absolutely no excuse for speaking to paying customers this way, especially not over something so minor. His attitude was rude, his timing was inappropriate, and the way he handled the situation showed a complete lack of professionalism and basic courtesy.
Until the staff is properly trained on how to treat customers with respect, I won’t be returning — and I certainly won’t be recommending this...
Read moreA Hidden Gem for Authentic Halal Food – Ghareeb Nawaz Restaurant Deserves Applause!
We’ve had the opportunity to explore countless restaurants across the United States — from coast to coast — but very few places have left the kind of lasting impression that Ghareeb Nawaz has. This isn’t just another restaurant; it’s an experience of hospitality, humility, and halal excellence.
From the moment you walk in, there’s an undeniable buzz — a crowd that speaks volumes about the popularity of the place. Yet despite the rush, the service never falters. Fazal, Jaleel, and especially Muhammad, the proud owner, go above and beyond to make every guest feel valued and welcomed. Their grace under pressure is remarkable. Courteous, respectful, and efficient — their service is a masterclass in how to treat customers right.
The food? Simply put — phenomenal.
Flavor-packed, freshly prepared, and unapologetically authentic.
Portions are generous, the taste is consistently delicious, and most importantly, everything is 100% halal, which is a top priority for us and many others who dine here.
Whether you’re craving biryani, nihari, kebabs, or a quick plate of paratha and chai, Ghareeb Nawaz delivers with sincerity and soul.
What truly sets them apart is their commitment to keeping food affordable — a rare quality these days. It’s one of the very few places in the U.S. where you can enjoy a hearty, authentic, halal meal without feeling like you’ve overpaid.
And let me highlight something very special: not once were we nudged for tips — no subtle pressure, no awkward moments. That level of dignity and self-respect in service is rare and deeply appreciated. It’s a reflection of the humble roots and honest intentions behind the name Ghareeb Nawaz — truly a place that lives up to its values.
To Fazal, Jaleel, and Muhammad — thank you. You’ve set a gold standard not only for halal dining, but for how restaurants can serve communities with heart, excellence, and affordability. We’ll be back soon, and we’ll be bringing more friends and family with us.
Highly recommended. 5...

Here to write about a terrible service experience. Two younger Indian girls “working” the register. I’m a first time customer.
Walk in, they are talking to each other. I’m looking at the menu, they don’t greet me, ask me how they can help me, ask me if I have questions - they just keep talking to each other.
Eventually, they started staring at me because I didn’t know what to order or how the menu worked. Just staring at me.
When I stared at her back, she asked ME why I was staring at her.
Stand-offish and rude.
I proceed to leave with my order and was never told that I needed to grab my own mango lassi from the cooler. I drive 10 minutes back, ask for my drink, and she just points at the cooler and writes me off. When I told her “you never told me that and I had to drive all the way back here,” she rolled her eyes.
I also watched her get into another snarky dispute with a dine-in customer who wanted some sort of extra side. She rolled her eyes then too.
These 2 girls come across as extremely entitled, and not oriented to the basics of customer service. Surprising for a brand new restaurant to the area that needs to establish trust and a local base.
Aloof, doesn’t care much about the customer.
Management - get your employees trained on basic customer service capabilities. If I come back, I hope a manager takes my order next time, and not these 2 girls.
PS The Mango Lassi is clearly made from a powder and has the consistency of water. Truly disgusting....
