EDIT 9-19-25: Taking it from 5 stars down to 3 (Food=2) because I finally had to give up on this place earlier this year. No matter what I requested when ordering, it got to where it would still come out too doughy and sometimes too gloppy. And they seem to have cut back on the generous amount of cheese they were using before. I still give 3 stars overall because the service (pickup) has always remained prompt and friendly. Plus I recognize that their current pizza-making approach may be more to some peoples' liking than mine.
EDIT 5-11-24: Based on my latest experiences, it deserves a bump back up to 5 stars (really more like 4-5). This rating is for carryout thin crust pizza, since that's all I get. I can't speak to delivery or other food items. It's consistently among the best thin crust pizza I've had in the N & NW suburbs, and better than other Rosati's I've tried. I've been asking for crispier crust lately, which they do. Always on time and courteous.
EDIT 1-28-24: Unfortunately, I have to change from 5 stars to 3 stars. The last couple times I have ordered here, the crust has been limp and droopy. I used to be able to pick up a piece, and it would be firm and slightly crisp. But now it flops down, creating a bit of a limp mess (so a lot more napkins needed) and a decidedly less enjoyable pizza. Too bad, because the cheese, sauce, toppings and service are still great.
UPDATE THREE MONTHS LATER: Still the best pizza, for all the reasons above, and courteous staff. But I do have a complaint regarding their hours of operation sometimes diverging from what their website and printed menu say. Roughly a year ago I was trying to order, and the website said "closed" at about 10:10pm, when they were supposed to be open until 11, and so I had to call. Over the phone they couldn't accept a promo code I had been emailed, but at least I could still place the order. Then tonight, a Monday, I went to the website at 9:45pm to place a pickup order, but a popup said the "website is closed now" (or something to that effect), even though the site also "confirmed" that this location closes at 11pm on Tuesday. I called, and they answered the phone with "Rosatis, we are closed." I said the website says open till 11, and was told no, the hours for Monday and Tuesday are open until 10pm. I asked how long this has been the case, and was told two months. And again -- naturally -- this happened the day after Rosatis had mailed me a promo code. I wish they would get their act together in this regard. If you're going to start closing earlier, change the website to reflect the actual hours. And when it is still possible to order by phone, accept the promo codes over the phone if the website isn't available to take it. I ended up going to the Glenview Rosatis. Not quite as good as the Des Plaines location, but still very tasty, with better thin crust pizza than most area places.
Based on my last two pizzas here (both pickup) this is easily the best thin-crust pizza I've had in the North suburbs. Lots of tasty cheese, just the right amount of perfect sauce, and a crispy crust (but not crumbly, burnt or lacking character). Pepperoni has nice crisped edges, and all the veggies I've had taste really fresh.
The pizza here is certainly way better than another Rosatis in the area that I've ordered from. In fact, it's better than this location itself used to be some years back. At one point it was a roulette wheel of too much sauce one time, under-cooked and doughy crust another, and fine another.
I'll gladly stick with five stars even though one of the items on half of my half-and-half pizza was wrong last time. a Des Plaines Rosatis pizza with an incorrect item still makes for a more enjoyable pizza than the right item from other places. Seriously! (Besides, they offered to make me another pizza after I insisted it wasn't fully what I ordered. But instead of having to wait I asked for some of the missing veggie on the side, and they gave me...
Read moreDO NOT GO TO THIS ROSATI'S!! I went to this Rosati's on Wednesday, September 9, 2015 to purchase a gift certificate for the wonderful doggie daycare (Go Doggie Home Doggie) where I take my boy Lenny during the day. The guys behind the counter were very nice, but couldn't find a gift certificate without a balance on it - not sure what that was all about. I wanted a $50 gift card, so they found one with a $10 balance and charged me $40 so I ended up with a $50 gift card. Gave the card the next day. When I came at the end of the day to pick up my dog, she told me she went in for 2 slices and gave me her receipt, which showed a charge of $5.50 and they wrote the balance of $4.50. I went straight to Rosati's and the same guys were there. They were very nice, but said they couldn't resolve until the next day, as they needed to speak to the company that manages their gift cards. They apologized and thank me for being willing to come back. Went back today and was greeted by a girl who I hadn't met before. Explained my situation and she said she'd get the manager. Came back and said the manager said I'd have to come back. I asked to speak to the manager, as this was the 3rd day in a row I came to their store. She came out and very nastily informed me that I would have to come back, there was nothing she could do, this company that handles the gift cards was busy and never called back. I asked for the owner, she said she was the owner. I said she needed to do something, I can't keep coming back with no resolution. She got even nastier and then when I said to her that this is ridiculous, she told me to calm down, because she had customers in her shop. I told her great, they should know how they will be treated when this Rosati's makes a mistake and takes their money with no gift...
Read moreI had a horrible experience with the Rosemont/Des Plaines Rosatti’s on 10/29/2015. I called at 10:50 a.m. so that lunch would arrive in good time to finish before afternoon meetings. They told me 40 minutes. At 11:45, I called to check on the status of my order, and I was put on a five minute hold by Barb. After 5 minutes, I hung up and called back. Barb told me that the driver was on the way. My food arrived at 12:12. I asked the driver if I had been last on his route, and he said that I had been first. He assured me that my food was hot. My 1 slice of sausage pizza was warm and overcooked. The beer nuggets were warm. I had to warm the boneless wings in the microwave & the calazone was “ok” according to my co-worker. When I called to speak with the order taker Corey, he did not know that delivery was free today according to the website. After my complaint he said that his manager Barb would offer 20% off my next order. What about a free slice of fresh pizza next time ??? Since the one I paid for was disgusting!! I will NEVER order from this Rosati’s again. Corey was nice and polite despite the complaint. The manager, Barb was condescending, she lied & she never apologized. The driver never apologized about being over 30 minutes late. At this Rosati’s, free delivery means slow and terrible service. Why didn't I order from Village Pizza? I won’t ever make that...
