Kelly's Homemade Ice Cream — Restaurant in Maitland

Clean ice cream parlour with classic flavors and reasonable prices compared to bigger chains. I also liked that I was able to taste test before purchase to make sure I got what I was looking for. Enjoyed scoops of banana pudding and ore-dough in a waffle bowl. The location is near a small park that would be perfect to eat in especially when it lights up at night.

Can't complain too much except for service which I knocked off 1 start because I wish I was greeted and offered help when I walked in instead of looking to find someone to offer help. Especially with 3 or 4 people on staff yesterday. And when I asked for my waffle bowl to go was told they didn't have a top to cover it expecting me to walk out without it at least a bag to make sure it doesn't fall or get dirty on my way home was kind of weird. At least offer a bag w/o me asking or letting the customer figure out how they can get their food...

I just left the new(er) Maitland location and witnessed a shining star working for Kelly's and his name was Ben.

Ben effortlessly handled a somewhat rough queue including two Karen's, iykyk, and a line out the door.

He owned the task of handling the belligerent customers while still delegating to the crew and remaining cheerful and inviting.

In an age where the average fast casual experience is subpar and the customer is met with a robotic emotionless "what's your order" Ben rises above the rest and provides a great customer experience even if began with a Rocky start.

If I don't hear from him that he's been given advancement opportunities on my next visit...

This was my third time visiting Kelly’s Ice Cream in Maitland, and I always have a great experience! The location is super convenient, and the decor is adorable and definitely gives cozy, happy vibes. The staff is always so sweet and welcoming, especially when it comes to offering samples (which I love!). Parking is also free in the area.

I got my usual birthday cake ice cream in a waffle cup (my fave!), and it never disappoints. I really like that they introduce new flavors every month, even though I usually stick to what I love. Maybe next time I’ll switch it up and try something new. Either way, this place...
