It's alright. They have live jazz, but the music can be a little too loud to have a conversation with someone without having to raise your voice a bit.
Their staff are nice, but their customers are not nice people. A lot of snobby people walk in there. If you show up with someone, be sure you keep your attention on them and not the people around you. Have your own fun. The ladies that go there are not really that nice. Very stuck up women that on those rare occasions decided to wear high heels that don't look all that great on them anyway behave like they are above everyone. Best thing to do is to not feed their egos.
The staff is mostly Asian, but the majority of the customers are white. As a black male that went in as an interracial couple, the other customers did a lot of staring. The bar can get full very quickly. There are always one or two seats left, but never next to each other. When I'm at the bar, I'm always asked to push with my company to make room for Caucasians when they bring their company. I do it and don't mind to. When it's my turn to sit at the bar and have to Caucasians push down so I can make room for my company, the staff doesn't make the effort or ask people at the bar to push down. There is defiantly favoritism for Caucasian customers. That could be because those customers pressure them more than anyone else.
I made most of that situation and just asked for a table, and they were nice enough to sit us at the window. As we did that, the staff was pretty nice, but their customers did a lot of staring because we arrived as an interracial couple. I didn't see what the big deal was. They watched us eat, drink, talk, laugh, and have a good time. Because of the demographics, not a lot of interracial couples go into that restaurant.
The service was excellent. Every time my water was finished, a waiter would come over and fill it before I asked for more. They let us take our time eating and drinking without rushing us. I can't say I hate the place because the staff were really nice people.
The food is ok. They have a lot of drinks to select from. They seem to always run out of Sake. I think their scorpion bowl and Marietta drinks are their heavy hitters. They have a sushi bar and also offer that if you like sushi.
I will say, on holidays this place can get jam packed. WOW! I took someone who was visiting out of town there once, and we walked out as soon as we walked in. There was just no room anywhere. During the week it cam be moderate. On snow days it's dead empty. In between holidays, the...
Read moreI went here for sushi. As I always do at a new sushi place, I tried their uni (sea urchin roe), their hamachi (yellowtail) sashimi, and a vegetable maki. I was also pleased to find that they serve botan ebi (Japanese botan sweet shrimp), which I also tried. For an appetizer, I had a hamachi carpaccio (marinated thinly sliced yellowtail).
The hamachi carpaccio was good—the marinade was a delicious ponzu-like sauce which didn't overpower the flavor nor break down the texture of the hamachi. The uni was decent—a good amount, with a distinct buttery flavor, but also a bit too much of the strong sea scent and flavor that comes with all but the freshest uni; the latter unfortunately prevented the subtler flavors from coming through. The hamachi sashimi was good—the texture had the right balance of firmness and tenderness, and the flavor was that of good-but-not-great hamachi—but the portion was extremely small compared to other restaurants in the Boston area, and overall not worth the price. The vegetable maki was alright but unremarkable. The botan ebi was, as usual, delightfully sweet with a hint of fat, but it also had a hint of not being quite fresh, and the brain wasn't as large or creamy as I've encountered elsewhere.
It was very strange that when we were seated, our table setting did not include chopsticks nor chopstick rests. It was also strange that I had to clarify several times to my server that I wanted Wakatake Daiginjo, a sake that is prominently listed as the first entry on the sake menu and is commonly available at Japanese restaurants in the Boston area. My friends half-jokingly told me that these were results of the Malden location, which isn't known for being in tune with East Asian cultures.
Overall, this place was good but not great, and I would go there again, but only if the nearby Ocean Sushi is...
Read moreI received racist customer service at this establishment, if you can even call it customer service. I wanted to try sushi as I have never before and was so excited to try All Seasons Table. To my great disappoint, I was treated with disrespect from various staff members including management.
I was unaware that the sushi I ordered was raw as I didn't completely understand the menu or receive any help to understand it. When my dish was brought out I was confused as to why my sushi was raw when I thought I ordered a cooked sushi. I brought it to the attention of a passing waiter who did not wait on me. With much attitude my plate was grabbed and brought to group of other wait staff who were exchanging opinions over my plate. I watched my plate go back to the kitchen, then brought back to my table. I was asked if I wanted to bring the same dish I did not want in the first place back home. WHY WOULD I WANT TO DOGGY BAG A PLATE OF FOOD I DID NOT WANT IN THE FIRST PLACE! Please make it make sense. I'll wait 👂🏾... I thought this would be the end of the disrespect I received but low and behold here comes the manager asking if I want to torch my raw sushi. I was appalled, as a matter of fact 3 days l still am! I had to pay for the food I did not want and did not yet. I was not offered compensation or even a different dish. BLACK PEOPLE PLEASE STAY CLEAR OF THIS ESTABLISHMENT. Unless you're into being disrespected. 0/10 WOULD NOT RECOMMEND!
I made sure to leave it all on...
