Mistreatment by manager....,called us liars in front of everybody!
I just took away 5 stars... and dropped it to a "1".
Why? Let me explain:
I am a regular customer who visits the restaurant there on 8365 Sudley Road in Manassas, Va 20109 quite frequently. Often I get a "to go" box But also may sit in during 1pm-4pm for "senior discount". Today, after church I invited a friend who at first did not want go there, but later convinced her that the food was good. And because we were both "seniors" we were able to get a discount. I was not aware of the "Sunday policy" for seniors because I usually only come during the week.
A young lady by the name of "Carina" was our waitress and was very nice and happy to serve us. During the ordering of drinks we "specifically" asked her if the drinks were free for seniors , and she said "yes". This all happened on 5/28/17, around after 13:51 pm. My girlfriend and I both were approached by her again later, asking us if we wanted more to drink. We asked her once again if it was free, she said "yes", so we said ,"ok, then, "sure", we would take a refill'. So, between the two of us, we had 4 drinks. When the time came to pay at the register, a female manager", began to tell us the drinks were NOT "free". We explained that the waitress told us differently, and that we would not have ordered all those drinks if we knew that we would be charged. Her disposition was EXTREMELY "unprofessional", and she began to argue with us in front of everybody, telling us it was the policy. We explained that we "respect" the policy, but that it was not what the waitress sold to us, nor charged us, ...and it was not our fault. Well, my girlfriend was very upset because she was being treated so disrespectfully in front of everyone, and the manager was rude and argued with us and refused to believe us,.. telling us that the waitress had been there for years, and knew better.
It was Horrifying! A huge argument in front of everyone in the restaurant that could see and hear....and those also standing in line.
What really upset me, was the fact that she was calling us "liars" in front of everyone, and refused to face the fact the waitress gave us misinformation.
I told her that maybe the waitress got the days mixed up, but I usually order water when I come.
This manager lacks good customer service skills. I have been in the field of customer service for many years in tbe past for Big, well known companies; therefore I know for a fact, her skills were demeaning and very unprofessional, and I would never, ever, want to have be confronted by her again. The young spanish girls that work there have far much better character and customer service skills then she could ever have.
I was so disappointed. I had to apologize to my girlfriend afterwards for inviting her there. She said she would never go there again.
Unfortunately, we both felt unhappy and departed, not on good terms today because of the horrible experience. I continually had to call her and apologize for the rudeness we both had to experience. I was never about the money....we both have money, and she works in tbe medical field. It was about the way we were treated, and the way the manager made us appear to the other customers, as...
Read moreI I stopped by this buffet hoping for a pleasant afternoon meal, but what I experienced was a mixed bag — with the food mostly redeeming what was otherwise an unimpressive visit.
Let’s start with the good: the food, for the most part, was flavorful and satisfying. There was a wiariety, and a handful of dishes were genuinely excellent — fresh, hot, and clearly made with some care. Unfortunately, that consistency didn’t carry across the entire spread. Too many items were served cold or barely lukewarm, which is frankly unacceptable at any buffet. Temperature control is buffet service 101, and it’s baffling how this basic expectation wasn’t met.
But the real low point was the service — or lack thereof. There was one young employee in particular, a kid with a pierced lip, who couldn’t have made it more obvious that he didn’t want to be there. He wandered around the floor like a ghost, barely making eye contact, much less offering any assistance. It was the kind of apathetic, checked-out attitude that makes you question whether management is even paying attention. Only when the manager was directly involved did this employee suddenly muster the ability to be marginally helpful — a performance clearly more about avoiding reprimand than actually doing his job.
The overall effect? A dining experience undermined by indifference and inconsistency. The food deserves some credit, but the service was flat-out embarrassing. If management doesn’t address the staffing issues — especially the deadweight on the floor — they risk dragging down the whole...
Read moreOn Sunday 12/11/22 about 2:30pm We came because my family had great memories at this restaurant. The food was amazing and our server who was a young man was very attentive and kind. This is why I am giving 1 star. As we were finishing up the meal, my sister spotted a ROACH crawling on the wall towards our booth. The roach was about to lay eggs. My sister killed it with a napkin and we alerted the server. No one was in the booth behind us but it was approaching the next table. We immediately alerted the server, he apologized and got a manager. The manager promptly came over and apologized. She explained they were struggling with a pest problem because both buildings next door were empty, so the bugs travel from building to building when they exterminate twice a week. She comped our check but I was already done with the place. I had ate my meal and was going to get dessert but decided not too. We spent another 15 minutes inside because my 82 year old grandmother wanted to finish eating and had to use the restroom. The woman’s room was also not clean. The toilet in the larger stall did not have the back LID on it and it had a large overfilled trash can. The soap was also empty. We had to ask for soap and used sanitizer. Up until the roach and nasty bathroom we had a good time but that quickly went left. I would wait to come until they get...
