My family and I ate here last night. We did not have the pleasure to experience the great service others have shared for this restaurant. We were severely dis-portioned in our meal servings by the chef. The other family servings was significantly larger and they had take out boxes as a result. The lady from the other family commented on how we had finished our meal. I wanted to respond and state we did not have the large servings her and her family received nor the interaction from the chef. We wanted our 5 year old daughter to have a different dining experience but will not return to this place. The chef not good and the food was just okay (nothing to boast about at all). My hubby has shellfish allergies so the chef did respond accordingly (by preparing his food first) and my cocktail was good. NOTE TO MANAGER- Please ensure your staff responds well to all customers. We did tip well in spite of the chef. The other servers we pretty good however the chef makes dining worthwhile but not in this case. We had a small meal afterwards at home. After spending over $70 (food overpriced) at this place with nothing to show for it. I hope others do not have this experience. We did...
Read moreI went to Sumo a few days ago for my birthday late afternoon. I have gone there for my birthday almost every year since they have opened under the name Sumo. I was told by the owner's wife that they no longer have sushi and that this is permanent. I was completely heartbroken...at first. However, I'm now seeing sushi reviews from just a few weeks ago. I have just found that sushi didn't stop at Sumo!!!!! If they didn't have a chef available that day for whatever reason, they should have just said that instead of lying. This used to be an amazing, fun, and tasteful restaurant with wonderful customer service. Unfortunately, it's no longer worthy of ANYONE'S money!!! Sumo started going downhill YEARS ago, before this pandemic. I thought I would give it one more try, but I wished I had not. I hope the owner's alleged sister-in-law (owner's wife's sister) got out of there and moved on to something better. She was extremely nice, or at least was WAY better at acting like it. Please do yourself a favor. Save yourself money, irritation, inconvenience, disappointment and...
Read moreThis is by far our favorite "special occasion" restaurant in Manassas. It is not fancy or anything, but it is always the #1 request for anyone's birthday or whatever. Everything is reasonably priced, the food is always delicious and they do not skimp on alcohol for their mixed drinks. You get so much food, you will likely have leftovers. The service has always been great (we love Francesca!) We have never had reservations and never had to wait to be seated. They try to wait to have a semi full section around the grill before the chef comes, but you get soup and salad as part of your meal that come while you wait, so if you do have to wait a little bit for more people to join your section, it isn't a big deal. Even though we have been lots of times, the hibachi chefs are still entertaining and the kids (tweens) always have fun. We have taken our extended family when they come to visit and now they request the place every time they come. My mother in law has celiac disease and they were able to prepare her food safely gluten free and separately for her. She was...
