Overall really solid. The staff was incredibly friendly, and a massive selection of bread in different forms as soon as you walk in. I was impressed seeing the selection spread. It was a little cramped with 3 customers in there but not too horrible.
One of my concerns was immediate as they didn't have prices on anything which is normally a sign that things are going to be on the higher end. The bread itself was actually pretty fairly priced, a bag of I believe six ciabatta hoagie rolls for just under $9. I also got two breakfast sandwiches which were almost $10 a pop, which I honestly would have been fine with if it wasn't the steamed egg patty, it just had a very bad texture. It was a shame because they use some really good bacon, the bagels were amazing, and the cheese was okay, the egg just really sank it for me. Also just shy of $2 a bottle of water seemed a little bit steep as well.
The folks working there were really nice and open to feedback so hopefully they will tailor some of their options as they grow. I will definitely be coming back but keeping an eye on some of their pricing/food adaptations.
Edit: it was 4 hoagie rolls so a little over 2$ a roll is...a little high. They were...
Read moreI had picked up a loaf of Rustic Italian from Central Market a month or so back, and it was the best bread I'd ever had in my life. Earlier this week I made a six hour roundtrip just to grab a few more loaves to stock up for soup season. Upon my visit to the bakery, I was pleasantly surprised to be assisted by Thom himself. After chatting for a while and exploring the available selections, I left with (what seemed like a truckload of) fresh baked, still hot bread, along with some sweets and granola, all of which were equally delicious. Being from, and growing up in Lancaster, I'm pleased to report that Thom, his operation, and his staff fully embodies the values, and honors the traditions of the closely-knit community that is Lancaster. If I still lived in the area, I can guarantee I would never purchase another loaf of bread from the supermarket again. I will be back to sample the other offerings, and hopefully engage in another pleasant conversation with the proprietor. Buy with confidence and shop...
Read moreI came to visit here on my way to work one day and I was not disappointed. The smell of fresh baked bread hits you as soon as you walk in the door. There is a mass variety of all types of different bread as soon as you walk in on the right on a shelf. While it’s a bakery, they also have bagels, sandwiches and brick oven pizza made from scratch. Let me tell you this is one of the best pizzas I’ve had in a long time. A 16 inch margarita pizza was $20 but let me tell you it was well worth it. The crust was super crispy and it had the bubbles on the outside edges, which always tells you the quality of the pizza. You could still taste the flower at the bottom and it was everything I could’ve hoped for. The staff even gave me a complementary water and offered me red pepper chili flakes that they had in the back. The place only has one table so you might not be able to sit down and eat, but I cannot wait...
