I found home again. If you know me I love family diners. Home ya know. Somewhere I can home to no matter how many times I wonder. I am home. When I got back after 2mths away they welcomed me with open arms. It’s not just the coffee, it’s the community. They love me too. Their food is amazing and the music well they took me home with the jukebox in the corner. I love you baby!!!!! And if it’s quite alright I need you baby to warm a lonely night I love you baby 🖤 I mean song comes I get lost away with those that aren’t sitting around me. Sitting alone at the bar can be loneliness. But when your home family is still around you they watch the videos of family they never seen they indulge in your life with love and hope like Momma Bee. Falling in love with you. No bacon today. Sour dough and crispy potato sticks. Gotta Spinach frittata and my knees just went Gaga! Music works for me and so does family. Holding you through anything even the smallest thing to you in the world. Caught up in the moment. Pikes Peak that view. Arkansas wrapped all around me and then you take me away with that jazzy tune from years gone by I am dancing in New Orleans and the smells the feels the air so crisp here. The music fades away as the time goes on the cafe is buzzing louder. Angels Angels Angels around me. Dancing with me. Hold on to me while we dance. That brass horns no matter how questionable it may play dance to the tunes of a memory. Home. 💙🫶🏽 I am here. I did it...
Read moreRock solid classic diner that has survived for a reason. Stopped here with my family back in October (big ole wedding) while looking for a spot that was friendly for folks with severe gluten allergies. This isn't the perfect spot for that, as it turns out (single stovetop, part of why it's so delicious), but the owner went way out of her way to make it happen for us anyway. She let us know personally that they were clearing a spot on the grill for our family member's meal, apologized for the extra wait, and let us know exactly what would be done for substitutions. It was very touching, because it's so difficult to dine with your family when you have a severe gluten allergy, and he struggles to enjoy eating out together a lot.
Touching moments aside, the diner is old school cool, and the food is exactly the sort of fare you're hoping for from a spot with that signature. Cozy, bright dining room with four-person booths, and they were kind enough to find a chair for our fifth member. They mentioned that they don't do reservations, but were happy to tell me what the dining room looked like when I called to find out if they had space, and they even gave me a ballpark for what to expect without me requesting it. The diner was busy (no wait to get in, thankfully), but the food came out hot and quick despite the warning. I got so much fruit in my side dish that I had to pocket some...
Read moreAmazing place to enjoy a yummy breakfast! My husband and I just moved here and have been looking for a local diner and this place was it! We had a new waitress whom it was her first day and we were honored to be in her presence! She was SO SO kind and very nice. You all are lucky to have her! I apologize but I forgot her name…I believe it started with an H? I could be totally wrong but I’m sure she will know who I am! She asked for our names and I’ve never had that before, so it was nice being treated and her using our names; I found it more genuine. Anyways, we ordered pancakes and French toast and usually I don’t eat French toast but it sounded good and I am so glad I got it, because…YUM!!! Much love to her, again, y’all have a great staff worker and are lucky to have her! Only gave 4/5 on atmosphere because it did take a second for us to get seated; or maybe we came in the back but it said entrance? Haha, but it’s ok. Can’t wait to bring my family when they come and hope to see our favorite waitress again!
Love, Alex and Grace (The...
