I was at Aroogas at the bar tonight for a very laid back drink and wings with my sister. It was not busy in the slightest. Our first bartender was extremely pleasant and gave great service as I ordered wings, a drink, and later an extra shot that I nursed for over an hour while talking with my sister. The first waitress must have been busy doing side jobs or other things when Kasay was then taking care of the people sitting at the bar. I had wings left in a basket that she picked up to take and I very simply let her know that I wasn't done with the wings (the basket had a napkin in it that I was using so I really didn't mind that she assumed I was done) to which she whipped herself around as she rolled her eyes and walked the other way. I let it go and about 2 minutes later she came back and then attempted to take a 1/3 full can of redbull to which I very simply said again that I wasn't done with and again got the same harsh eye roll, whip around and attitude walking away. The other patrons even looked stunned. The cherry on top was when 2 minutes later she asked for my shot glass that was 1/2 full, and again, the attitude that I said I wasn't done with it. I had served for over 7 years and never in my time serving would I have treated a customer like I was treated, especially unprovoked. ..and I have dealt with MANY rude customers. The kicker was that she walked back to where we were at the bar and was over the top friendly and talkative to 2 guys who were sitting very close to us, the same guys who looked as stunned at her attitude towards me as my sister and I were. Her manager (or another employee??) encouraged me to write a review! They close at 2am and we certainly weren't overstaying our welcome by being there at 8:30pm. If I were the manager, I would certainly give the busy shifts to someone who is better fit for customer service and who treats paying customers equally and with an ounce of the same respect that they give the staff. I'm sure I haven't been the only customer to witness to how...

This used to be one of my favorite places to eat. I've left my original review intact below for anyone interested. Unfortunately they seem more interested in franchising out than keeping up with the quality and service of their restaurants. The last few trips here have been nothing but disappointing.
Service has gotten horribly slow and the servers we've had have been unattentive and absent for as long as 20 minutes in our one trip.
That night took 20 minutes from the time we ordered to get our appetizer and then another 30 minutes from that point for our entrees to come out. All the while we saw our server one time. When the food finally came out, it was barely warm and the stromboli was gushing half a bottle of mustard out of itself. There's supposed to be a tiny squirt of it like there always has been. The only thing I could taste was mustard.
That was by far the worst if our most recent trips and may not be the norm, but having had bad experiences several times in a row now has made us wary. There are plenty of restaurant options in Lancaster and we don't need to waste our time on this place anymore.
So long Arooga's. It's been real.
Definitely one of my favorite places to eat around Lancaster.
I first encountered Arooga's when I lived up in Harrisburg for a couple years. They have an extensive menu with tons of options from a variety of cultures and it's all delicious. If you like wings, this is absolutely the place to go. They have virtually every wing sauce you could imagine; from garlic butter to burn-your-mouth-off-your-face, there's something for everyone.
If you're into sports, this is a great place to have a few beers, eat some great food, and watch the game with friends. There's tons of TV's around the restaurant and some booths even have their own TV. The bar in the middle of the restaurant is a great place for walk-in seating and drinks while you wait...
Read moreWe went out for a mom and daughter date. My daughter and I both like wings, but there's more than wings on this restaurant's menu. They have a massive selection of burger concoctions, many wings many different ways, mouth watering appetizers, and unexpected deserts. My daughter ordered the PBJ Burger, which she said was delicious and harkened back to the flavors of a new Orleans style Monte Cristo sandwich. She said the flavors were bold, and she couldn't stop eating it. She also liked the fries. I had wings in their "kinda hot" flavor. The awesome thing about Aroogas wings is that you can order all drums or flats, you can get them extra sauced, or twice baked so that they are more dry, and you can even get them "naked". They were so good, and not a disappointment like so many other places around Lancaster. For desert, we decided to get two an split them. We ordered their vanilla bean ice cream, and funnel cake straws. The funnel cake straws took me back to childhood when I would go to the state fair with my parents. The ice cream was rich and had a home made texture. No complaints about any of that food. Now, about the service: our waitress was on the ball. We never had to ask for anything. She anticipated our refills, cleared as she served, was informative and attentive. What is even better, is that all of the servers seemed to not only be doing a great job, but enjoying their work. Happy. Smiling. Also the manager works the floor, interacting with customers to make sure they are having a good experience. Plus:if you like sports and tv, this place is made for you. While we really weren't into that, neither one of us were bothered by the televisions. We will definitely...
