Normally I do not post any reviews, and I thought a lot about posting this one, regarding my experience at the Mill in Mansfield. My mother was at Methodist hospital, for a few days and yesterday Monday 4/7/2025, she had a procedure that would take about an hour and a half, so I say to myself, why not go have a good breakfast at a place where I can sit and relax and decided for the Mill.
After been sited, the server came and took my order, a few minutes after taking my order she came to inform me they were out of eggs, however someone had gone out to get more eggs and should be have soon, since I needed to get back to the hospital before my mother was out of her procedure, I asked how long would be, she went to ask and came back to tell me no more than 10 minutes, so I decided to move forward with my order. 20 minutes went by and no eggs, so I started looking around, the server without asking brings my plate of food less the eggs and said the person who went out to get the eggs was about 5 minutes away. So, I accepted for her leave the plate and bring me the eggs as soon as they arrived. I started eating my cheese grits and waited for the eggs; about 10 minutes later the server came again and was very apologetic and said the person was still not back, at this point I was upset and told her to forget about the eggs and I was just going to eat my skill without eggs. After I was done eating, she came out with eggs and said she was very sorry and here are your eggs. I told her, I don’t want them anymore, I really need to go back to the hospital. Here's what bothered me:1. Kroger’s is behind them, could someone not have gone there and purchased eggs there? 2. There was an upcharge for the grits since this was not an option for my plate, however there was no down charge since I didn’t get eggs with my meal.
I seriously contemplated not leaving a tip for the server, but I believe this is not completely her fault, servers are only there doing what they are asked to do. So, I blame management, I believe this poor management, how can a breakfast place not know they will run out of eggs before they do, why was there no sign upfront stating “OUT OF EGGS” whoever runs the kitchen should have known early there would be an issue based on what inventory they had at the time, restaurant manager should have known!
It was a complete horrible...
Read moreWhere do I begin? I’m going to try and be as fair as possible here because I’m in customer service and sales so I understand what you can and cannot control. The first complaint is the food is way overpriced for what you get. Breakfast typically ranges from $9 to $15 and typically when you get a breakfast platter or any meal, it comes with proteins. If you get their French toast or their pancakes, no proteins come with it. You’re paying over $12 just for that. If you get their breakfast plates, a couple of them come with eggs the one with biscuits and gravy does not it’s mind blowing. It’s all carbs. It makes no sense. Also I got the typical American breakfast and I substituted 2 pancakes for the French toast…$3 to do that and when it came out there were 2 pieces. (How does 2 pancakes equal One piece of toast and then I get charged extra for it)? When has anyone not given 4 squares when ordering French toast. On the other hand, maybe I shouldn’t have expected normalcy during these times. Waitress never stopped by to ask us how the food was after we asked her about eggs coming with the biscuits and gravy meal. What are you doing? We never got syrup, never got asked if we need condiments. Absolutely nothing. We still tipped 20% because we understand you’re in Mansfield and you have probably have insane overhead just to rent that space. So in all, not a...
Read moreMe and my boyfriend had been trying to try this place for a while but we always have our kids and there is always at least a hour wait time and you can’t make reservations, you must go there and be put on a waitlist and that doesn’t work for kids, so today we were finally alone and we waited outside. Once we were finally in and seated we ordered and even that took a very long time, for the wait I expected our food to be really good and hot, the 18 freaking dollar s’mores waffle is literally just one waffle and my boyfriend had to add bacon and grits on the side, the waffle tasted like it hadn’t touched heat for a while, my shrimp and grits were just that so I added an egg on the side, my grits were lumpy and lukewarm at best, and all the food pretty much came out cold. the frozen drinks we ordered came out a significant amount of time before our food so we were trying really hard not to drink them all, btw we had frozen peach Bellinis and they were amazing, honestly the best thing of all the stuff we ordered. I’m sure the food would have tasted better had they bought it out while it was still hot. I was wildly disappointed because for the wait time and the cost I expected the food to be immaculate and it absolutely was not and for now the mill will not see us again! And if you’re planning to eat here, wear a sweater and ask...
