I would say that this was just an overall bad situation, only partially caused by the restaurant.
I had seen that Angeno's was a newer restaurant on DoorDash and they offered a pretty good variety of pastas. I placed my delivery order and everything was all set. About 45 minutes later, I noticed there was no driver assigned to my order so I reached out to doordash to try and get that resolved. As they were working on it (over an hour past when I placed the order) a driver is finally assigned to the order. The "driver" pulls up to the restaurant and says that they are waiting for the food to be ready. After 30 minutes, I reach out to doordash again and indicate that the driver hasn't moved and asked them to reach out. They assure me the driver is there waiting for the food. They let me know that the driver is not responding so they unassigned them from my order. As soon as they do this, I get a notification that the restaurant has canceled my order. Because it is taking so long, I reach out to the restaurant and ask if I can just go and pick it up- the nice woman on the phone says sure, come and pick it up! I let her know that it will be about 20 minutes before I can get there because of where I live, but I am on my way. I walk in to the restaurant and let the server know that I was the one who called about the pick up order. She says the guy at the cash register can help me. Great! At this point doordash says they are still looking for someone to get my order... not sure why because the restaurant canceled it, but I also still haven't been refunded. So the man at the register says "well because we canceled the order, we probably won't get our money so you owe $27.21". I must have looked dumb founded because the woman walked up and asked if I had been refunded, to which I replied that I hadn't. The man then says, well you should reach out to them, but we're not going to get our money so if you want this it'll be $27.21. I let them know that I didn't bring my cards (not that I would've paid again anyways considering I had already paid) and then the woman says "yea we didn't know how that would work since we canceled the order on you. Then a customer, who is chatting with the woman says "yea just reach out to doordash and they will refund you- I work for them". Again, I don't have my card, since I had already paid. The guy then says "well, I don't know what to tell you, you need to pay for the food" so I just turned around and walked out. Now, I completely understand that a large part of this situation is on DoorDash, but the man at the counter was really rude. And, if you are a merchant with doordash, you should know what happens if you cancel an order and if you get paid or not. That isn't in me as a customer! Come to find out because the merchant canceled my order, I don't get refunded because they already paid the merchant so now I am out almost $30 and never got my food. Guess I won't be going back here any time soon. Really sad because they seem like a local business and I really enjoy supporting local businesses. Guess they didn't want my...
Read moreDecent place until you call to place an order and get a grown woman who decides to speak to you like an angry teenage girl because it's a busy hour and she obviously needs a smoke break. Extremely rude, condescending, and unfriendly behavior. "How many pieces come with an order of wings?" 9 pieces. "Ok, umm..." she immediately cuts me off "Well, do you know what or I have to put you on hold!" I know what I want. I go on to place an order. She's a raging jerk and is extremely impatient, so of course she's not sounding out her words. She says code on the card, which I mistranslated as zip code because typically people say security code. She just said code. I said my zip code, and she gets sardonic and gets really condescending. "Your code is five numbers? Really? Five numbers?" The five numbers I said to her is the zip code to her own workplace (55369), so obviously she should know that I must have misunderstood and said the zip code instead of the security code. How does she not recognize her own zip code?
Somewhere in Angeno's, there's a nasty, angry, frustrated, nicotine addict who really needed a smoke break during busy hour and is somehow convinced she's the victim when she's the one being rude to a customer.
Jeff, I can appreciate you sticking up for your employee. But, the fact of the matter is she was antagonistic, rude, impatient, and repulsive from the very moment she answered the phone and for me to have made it that far in the phone call should imply a lot about my patient (she definitely didn't deserve my patience). This is the first time I've ever cussed at someone on the phone, and I actually just got off a 54 minute phone call of being transferred and asked for the same information and placed on hold over and over again. I've attached screen shots as proof. You can see I called your restaurant right after that long call. She is the one at fault here, and if she says otherwise, she's lying to you, and I'm sure she knows it.
LMAO, I don't tolerate incompetent, raspy adult babies who hate their jobs and take it out on customers. That is why I will no longer do business with you...Yes, you'll be missing out on the orders I place 4 times/year when I'm not in the mood to whip up something in the kitchen (; 0). We all have jobs and we all get stressed out. There's no excuse for being rude, condescending,...
Read moreMy wife and I rarely eat out, but because of the covid19 have been trying to do takeout a couple times a week to help out the restaurants. About a month and a half ago we saw Angenos makes calzones and they were pretty good! Then 3 weeks ago we decided to order again. We ordered the "veggie" kind and added Canadian bacon on hers and pepperoni and sausage on mine. When I brought them home they looked kind of thin so we cut into them and found there was only meat and no vegetables. My wife called and talked to the manager and he apologized and said he'd send out a coupon for free calzones and he did. My wife and I discussed and felt although the manager needed to know the order mixup- restaurants were having a hard time making ends meet. So this past Saturday we ordered the same calzones and paid for it online. When I went to pick it up, I quietly explained why I was giving the free calzones coupon back (using the coupon would have kind of been like hitting a man when he is down!). I was thanked and left with my order. When I got home, there were vegetables and only sausage on both. My wife doesnt like sausage and I really feel that pepperoni makes the taste! I called the manager again and identified myself and he remembered me. I told him the screw up and again he apologized. Before he could offer anything else I explained I did not want anything other than to have him know of this mistake again. I gave 3 stars for staff being very polite and manager trying to make it right but we wont be going back there. It saddens me as I have good memories of all the sports banquets after park and rec sports seasons that my boys had there and it...
