Nothing Bundt Cakes — Restaurant in Maple Grove

UPDATE: Reese's Peanut Butter Chocolate- much better Peanut butter flavor in comparison to their previous Peanut Butter Chocolate seasonal cake, which wasn't a favorite of ours either. I'm not sure if it was the peanut butter but it tasted quite artificial and didn't seem as moist as the others.

UPDATE: "I'd love to see a Caramel Apple flavor in the future!" They have a seasonal one now!!! Unfortunately I was sick and missed it by ONE day.

Chocolate Toffee Crunch: Great! I love toffee so I was excited for this. I think having a toffee sauce in the center would be better but we still liked it.

We tried the Oreo cake. It was good. Moist. It didn't have a strong Oreo flavor but it was there.

ORIGINAL: I would give them 5 stars but the Lemon Raspberry seasonal cake was quite disappointing. As you can see in the photos it's just a hint of raspberry, and lemon is such an overpowering flavor that you couldn't really taste it. I wrote in about the changing the name to maybe "Lemon with a hint of Raspberry" or increase the amount of raspberries but they didn't. I feel as though the title is misleading. I, of course, ordered this cake for a birthday. They just said sorry and left it at that.

They recently came out with a Salted Caramel seasonal cake. I was ECSTATIC for this. It missed the mark for us. It was good but to us could've had a little more salt in the flavor. I think that would balance out the sweetness of the frosting better.

Maybe we just have too high of expectations for this business as we have rarely been disappointed. But they still get a near perfect score! These cakes are VERY sweet and moist. Our go to is the White Chocolate Raspberry. Then we usually rotate our second choice between one of the other flavors. (Note: We have not tried the GF Chocolate Chip cake) I miss the samples so much!! It was always such a great persuasion technique to get us to buy more.. but COVID policies! I was told that we can request samples but when I asked for one on a seasonal flavor we were told we were misinformed. Other than that and the misleading cake title, we've NEVER had an issue with the staff in the last 4 years of finding this place. It's always our go to sweet treat stop. Super disappointed. I have never been to a nothing Bundt cakes before. My daughter had to stay with her aunt and cousins due to COVID issues here in Utah for a little while, and just so happened to be in Minnesota for her birthday. I spent 75.00 with this business, and unfortunately due to COVID her party was cancelled. I called the business to postpone explaining the situation. After the 2nd time of it needing to be cancelled, I explained we just wanted to get our money back. The gal explained they will not refund $ that was spent for an order but we could have in store credit. I asked what that initialed? She let us know that anything on the shelf up to the amount we have already paid for was fine. But, we could not apply to a new order or anything really customized. I get businesses are struggling, but this is not easy on anyone. I don’t live near the location and it is non-transferable to any other locations. Had I known this, I would not have ordered with things so crazy. But, I can certainly take my business elsewhere in the future shall we be in MN visiting or whatnot. Have loved this little shop since the beginning, then they hired a lovely older gal to replace their previous younger manager and she has made that bakery look and feel like a real bakery and not a chain bakery. Something has changed in the last month or so and the atmosphere isn't as "homey" the staff seems to have changed and I'm not sure what has happened but I don't like it. Kids on their phones up front, not tending to customers etc, I heard a rumor that it sold, I hope like everything else that Covid ruined this spot isn't another casualty. That would be devistating if it was.
