AVOID this place even if it is the LAST pizza place around. Frankies Maple Grove used to be the best game in town but over the last six months the quality has been steadily going down. Tonight was the final blow. I ordered a Frankies Family Feast which includes a 16 inch two topping pizza, cheese bread and soda. The estimated timeline for delivery came and went and over an hour later the driver came to a screeching halt in front of my house.
The driver looked disoriented as he approached the door but I didn't think anything of it. He pulled a bent up pizza box out of his bag along with my cheese bread and handed it to me with the soda. I had paid online which is a great feature but was going to tip the driver in cash. The driver must have known that I was not going to be very happy because he immediately turned around heading to his car and I had to stop him to give him the $5 tip I had. What a mistake. After seeing my dinner the driver should be tipping me $5.
I tried to open the pizza box first but a plastic piece was not placed in the center of the pizza and the box top was crushed into the cheese. This caused the cheese to be stuck to the box and no longer on the crust. Because the pizza was also cold I couldn't peel off the cheese without taking a layer of cardboard with it.
I decided that maybe dinner would consist of cheese bread after the pizza was ruined so I opened up the bag to find that the top was not on the marinara sauce and the sauce had exploded in the container and my cold cheese bread was now cold and soggy.
I called the store manager to express my concerns and he did graciously offer to deliver me another pizza but at this point I didn't want to wait another hour to eat.
I can't believe the driver even delivered this pizza after the events it must have gone through.
If you want a warm edible pizza delivered on time I would strongly suggest you try somebody else.
Sorry Frankies. After my 10 year love for you I no longer have you on speed...
Read moreMy family went here on a Wednesday at 3pm for a late lunch. We live about 1.5 hours away from Maple Grove and was down for the day exploring the area. I always look up best reviewed places to eat where ever we travel to. This place had high reviews so we went here to try it out since we are a pizza loving family. We went in and noticed they sell by the slice but also can order a whole pizza. Everyone but myself picked out slices of pizza they had sitting on the counter. I ordered a whole pizza and my husband ordered buffalo wings to go with his slices. I purchased a slice of chocolate cake to eat while I waited for my pizza to be ready. Thank goodness I did because it took 45 minutes to get my pizza and it took 30 minutes for my husband to get his buffalo wings! We were the only family in the place eating and only 1 other person was there waiting to pick up a pizza that they must have ordered online. I noticed that before my pizza was brought out they had make 4 pizzas to be put out on the counter before making mine which I thought was rude considering it wasn't lunch rush time and I was sitting right there waiting forever to be able to eat. When my husband received his wings I asked him how they tasted hoping he was loving them. Nope, he stated they tasted like the ones he gets in the frozen section at Wal-Mart. When i finally got my pizza and started to eat it, I wasn't impressed with it at all. The crust had no taste, the sauce looked and tasted like a can of crushed tomatoes and the veggies weren't even cooked because they were to large of chunks to even be cooked a little. I don't like raw veggies on my cooked pizza. Our kids ate the pizza but no one stated they liked or loved it though. We were just so hungry that we ate it. I had 4 slices that i brought home thinking i would eat them later, however i threw them out once we got home. Prices were expensive as well in my opinion. No apology for it taking so long. Will not be...
Read moreEDIT: If you want gift cards and want the add on bonus $20 (for $100 in gift cards purchased), then make sure you can go early January-March....otherwise the extra $20 in bonus gift cards expire.
I've been a loyal Frankie's customer since 1997 and was often there 3-4 times/week. Now I live 40 minutes away and can only get there on my way to my family cabin.
They sell seasonal/Christmas gift cards, but make the extra $20 expire within 3 months. That makes me not be able to use the gift cards or give them as gifts, as my entire family is nowhere near Frankie's in the first 3 months of the year.
The owner didn't seem to care at all when I brought this to her attention. I'll keep going to Frankie's whenever I pass by, but I am sure not going to be buying gift cards. The front counter wait staff can have my extra money and tips far before I give it to the stubborn owner.
I have never had any pizza even close to as good as Frankies. The sauce is to die for. The crust is delicious. I have been a visitor for 15 years and will be back every time I am in the area. I live 45 minutes away, but always look forward to my commute to my family cabin so I can eat Frankie's! The menu is awesome! Far more than just 🍕. Subs and lasagna and desserts are also great. Location is perfect.... right off of 2 major interstate roads. Call ahead orders work awesome or pizza by the slice is great (my usual). You can't beat this place! Grab a to go menu to keep in your vehicle and you'll find yourself stopping every time you are near. Thanks for so many years of awesome food and...
