Hacienda Del Mar Mexican — Restaurant in Maple Valley

Honestly they were very friendly as I had reservations online from Google. I called just in case to make sure they knew we had a booking for 10. When we found the place it was on the back side so make sure you watch the entrance or you will end up going to the light and it takes you towards an entrance that is closed. You will have to take a u-turn to get back to the entry. So when we arrived the table was set and water in all of the glasses. Honestly all of the people eating there were also so friendly. I checked the bathrooms and they were pretty clean. Make sure you do knock when standing outside as there is only one bathroom. Food was honestly the best I have ever had. I ordered a steak burrito and it was great! As we had 5 vegetarians their menu clearly states VG in green for them. We asked for extra vegetables and their burritos, and the vegetables were grilled wonderfully. We also ordered one for take home. I would definitely go back again as this is my new favorite place. I am very picky when it comes to where to eat but this was a fabulous experience for our family and our out of town guests who were greatly impressed!

The first time we went the service was decent and the food was decent. Nothing to write home about but decent. The 2nd time we went the food was okay and service was poor. We thought maybe it was a fluke and went a 3rd time. Well, the service was abysmal. We ordered steaks Medium rare and received steaks were well done....shoe leather tough. It was ridiculous. When the waitress finally showed up at our table we showed her the steaks. She went to the kitchen to let them know and then came back to our table and said there wasn't anything they could do about it because they were out of steaks. No offer to fix something else. They did comp our meal, which was a decent gesture but we had only eaten the obligatory chips and salsa and a bit of the refried beans/rice. After 3 visits we're calling it quits and looking for a new Mexican place in Maple Valley. Lackluster service and disappointing food. 2 stars goes for the possibility that we might have caught them each time on an off night and giving them the benefit-of-the-doubt. that being said, we have no plans on ever going back to see if...

Staff were very friendly and the restaurant seemed very clean in the dining area. Unfortunately our food (from chips to entrée) was only mediocre. The chips were stale, the food not very fresh or flavorful. Service was decent. But once we ordered, the server never came back. I had a question about covid guidelines and our waiter informed us they aren't following any of the guidelines, though. That they basically did what the public wanted and opened the doors. Which made me question a lot of other things before I got my meal. Like, do you follow DOH guidelines or is that just a suggestion as well? I get times are tough, but being pregnant, I'd hope a business would follow guidelines to keep patrons safe. Anyhow, this review is 2 stars for me based on only food. Not all share my view of covid guidelines so i just want to clarify why it got a 2 star. There are much better places. We will go back to our regular spot...
