Read moreWhen we arrived there was a note on the door saying that their fryers were down. We decided we would go ahead and have lunch there anyway. It had been a long day on the road and we were hungry. The young man that greeted us asked us if we wanted to sit in the bar area or the restaurant we said we wanted to sit in the restaurant. He said there were no available boots in the restaurant. We could sit in the bar if we wanted a booth. I did see 7 empty booths on the restaurant side. We said fine we would sit in the bar side and he proceeded to see us at a table. Then the waiter hurriedly came over, and took our drink order. He again reiterated that there was nothing available that was fried. We stated that we understood. However, I was a little shocked to find out that any other side we wanted besides french fries was an up charge. I'm thinking as a courtesy to your customers you should offer them almost any side within reason without an up charge since it's not exactly their fault that the fryers were down. We decided that we would have the macaroni and cheese, and the loaded mashed potatoes. The loaded mashed potatoes were literally ice cold. I always thought they were famous for the ribs but anyway I decided to order the fajitas. It took a bit of time to get our food and when it arrived the skillet wasn't even warm. You could put your hand on it and you wouldn't be harmed. I have always seen fajitas arrive on a sizzling skillet. Then the guy brings out the sides to put in the tortillas and the guacamole was brown like it had been sitting out for a long while. Strike 2 and I was not happy and told him why he should never bring guacamole out when it's brown - why I have to train wait-staff is beyond me. Anyway, he brought out another bowl of sides and the guacamole was still brown. I informed him (a nice way of putting it) that avocados are green and he should never ever bring brown guacamole to another customer. At that point everything was no unappetizing. So I just sent it all back and the bartender took it off our bill. I think the bartender was new because the drinks weren't all that great but I tolerated that because I figure as time goes on he'll get better. Anyway, 2 people, 1 entre and 4 cocktails still came to $65 before tip. That's pricey for a crappy experience. You can find the same food elsewhere and I'm sure it will...
