Finally made it through Dickey's today. At first I thought it was a local eatery as I had never heard of them before, but then I learned they're a national chain (not a bad thing of course). I went in with almost no expectations, except for a certain Yelp review that lingered in my head (more on that guy later). As I walked in, it seemed a bit more upscale that I thought it would be. Don't get me wrong, this isn't an upscale place with crystal chandeliers and people pouring you wine and champaign, but by no means is it a dump. It was nice and clean and felt "warm" and inviting. Not ever being a patron of this place, I asked what they were known for. Rodney, who was upfront cutting a fresh slap of brisket, told me that they are known for their brisket and ribs, but that everything there was worth having. He advised me to try the brisket and I opted for that and the turkey breast. They had a several sides that sounded very appetizing and literally made my mouth water just reading them off in my head. As I stood there looking at the side choices, Rodney exclaimed that I should also try the mac and cheese and Raquel, the cashier, said I should try the baked potato casserole. I went with the mac and cheese ended up getting the jalapeño baked beans in lieu of the baked potato casserole as I wasn't in the mood for potatoes of any kind. Both the brisket and turkey breast were really good. I don't eat red meat all that often, but I can say without doubt that this is some of the best brisket I've had in an establishment like this. It was tasty and very tender and went great with the spicy BBQ sauce. Now I've had better, but not in a semi-fast food setting. Their turkey was absolutely tender and juicy! It was so good on it's own that I felt borderline bad that I was even put BBQ sauce on the few bites that I had with the sauce. The rest I ate as is, it was that good! I only wished my turkey at thanksgiving dinner came out that juicy lol. The mac and cheese was very good and nothing like "box" mac and cheese, as another Yelp reviewer had mentioned. I did wish that they had a more adult version of their mac and cheese though. One with bacon and jalapeño would be an awesome addition to this place. When I asked if this was an option, Raquel said no, but said she can give me a side of jalapeños to put in the mac and cheese. I took her up on her offer and regretted trying it with canned jalapeños still in the juice. I guess it works best with fresh jalapeños that are baked with the mac and cheese. The only real disappointing thing about this meal was the jalapeño beans. It was very bland and I didn't not pick up on any kind of spiciness. Really wish I had opted for the baked potato casserole. All in all, this is a good place to eat and I 100% recommend this place to anyone who enjoys BBQ, although I would hold off eating here for lunch and come for dinner instead, unless you're a fan of spending $15+ for lunch. This did not play a role whatsoever in my knocking down a star. The one star was 100% on the jalapeño beans. I would steer clear of this choice. Also, don't let that one guy who rated this place a 1 star sway your decision, or me for that matter. If you like BBQ, I recommend giving this place at least a try and sharing your own opinion. My experience there was polar opposite of that one star guy. I would say one of two things is true of that guy, if not both, he's an uppity BBQ elitist (is that even a thing?? lol) or he genuinely had a bad experience at two different locations. If it is the latter of the two, I would just mark it off as a one off type of thing. Plus, I don't trust reviews from people who don't use a first name lol :)

Arrived with a group of friends at approximately 8:00PM Saturday night. Was almost an hour until closing time. I ordered the Saturday special which was the brisket sandwich with two sides and a drink. Also order the Mac Attack. This location was out of Barbeque Beans so I ordered Waffle Fries instead. The waffle fries were of low quality and were practically all crumbs. Overall the food was Meh at best. Didn't really have any flavor or "Wow" factor. Most likely will not come here again. There wasn't many options for BBQ food establishments in the north side of town which is why we came here. Was my first and also my last time coming here.

So I don't know if you can see the guy in the back that works there that should be fired. I have never seen such filth my food was cold and tough. My salad oh my my..the man in the back used his hands to make he grabbed the lettuce croutons with his bare hands then used tongs for the cheese and then he did it again for my coworker's salad.. handled the money in-between and never washed or sanitzed his hands touching everything and then you wonder why there are pandemics. I used to go here at least every 2 months and dropped 200 easily for dinner. When family come from out of town 5 to 6 hundred never again. Sad 😔

Very unhappy today. I have been times before and things have been great. Today it was very disappointing. For $72 for 4 people I expect better food and better service than what we got. The guy in the plaid shirt (manager??) was condensing and a bit rude to us. We got the Rib plate, 3 meat plate, 2 meat plate and a sandwich with fries. All the meats were barely above room temperature. When returning to the counter with the first plate the guy in the plaid shirt offered to place it in the warmer and it would take about 5 minutes. When went back up with the ribs about 1 minute later, he made excuses about how as soon as the meats come out of the warmer they start cooling... and we took so long to order that the food sitting waiting for us is what probably let it cool so much. We (all 4 of us) did take our time to decide what we wanted but that was before we even started to order. From the time the first item was ordered we all knew what we were getting so the time is on them serving, ringing up the order and taking payment. After taking the ribs back they just got more out of the warmer and cut the meat fresh. The ribs came out of the warmer and were in front of us in a minute at most and those ribs were barely warmer than the ribs we took back. They than took the first returned plate out of the warmer and re cut the meat for that plate also. The polish kielbasa when brought back out was still not even over room temperature. The Brisket and pork were slightly warmer. This is a shame that today was so bad. My wife and I were at this location a bit over a month ago and the lady that served us was great. She was attentive, made sure we got what we wanted and the food that day was hot (not just warm but hot). I know it can be done so this guys excuses were as much garbage as his attitude and the...

I've Never Experienced such Bad Unprofessional Customer Service From Any Establishment! I want to Share my Experience So other Customers know what to Expect when Dining @ Dickeys BBQ Thornydale location. I Ordered a 3 Meat Plate 2 Orders of Brisket 1 Chicken Breast. When my order was Delivered to my Surprise I received nothing but Fat! No Brisket Meat. Now as a consumer I don't eat Fat I eat lean Meat. On their Website they don't Advertise Fat on the Brisket they Advertise Meat! I will attach pictures so yall can see what I received. I called to speak to the Manager & was greeted with a Voice-mail if i wanted to contact a Manager i was to write an email. I did so & attached pictures of the Fat Not Meat that was Delivered. My interactions with Whom ever was Responding to my emails was Unprofessional didnt Offer any Solutions to make it right! They did offer a Lecture on how Brisket is high in Fat. If thats the case then they should Advertise as so on their Website with pictures showing Fat! Not Lean meat as shown on their Website! This is misleading to the Customer! I never knew who I was communicating back & worth with through email because he/she did not state who he /she was. I find that odd & Unprofessional as a Manager always states their name to Customers. I would Not Recommend Anybody to Dine @ this Dickeys locations. A man by the name Cody eventually called me & left me a Voice-mail to discuss my order after I returned his call he stayed on the line but didn't say anything I can't help but think he did that on purpose! Very...
