First I'll say I really like their chicken But this time I'm REALLY UPSET ABOUT THE RUDENESS!!! I went here because my last order of 3 items was totally messed up. They told me to save the receipt and I wrote on it was wrong and the name of who I spoke to. When I went in I saw the girl I had spoke with when I called and she said she didn't remember the conversation. I showed her the receipt and explained all I over again and then she went in the back. When she came back out she still acted like she didn't believe me. So I said forget it and I said just replace one of 3 items and then I bought the rest. One item was a quesadilla and she asked to me to check it. I can't because it needs to be cut open but I will at home. Oh and on top of that she made me sign the receipt I brought in from the original order!! What's up with that. When I got home I cut it in half and it WAS WRONG AGAIN!!!!! I called and spoke with the same person and she said "no, your wrong. I watched them make it". I again repeated what was wrong and then I said "excuse me... now your calling me a lier and I'm looking right at it". I was SO UPSET!!!!!!!!!!!!! I then told fine, just forget cause I won't be called a lier!!!!! and I said good bye. I was not going to be called names and deal with a RUDE person. I know this young lady's name but I'm not going to put it here. But if El Pollo Loco Corporation wants to reach out to me I will be VERY GLAD TO REPEAT EXACTLY WHAT HAPPENED AND WHO IT WAS!!! This was the Absolute MOST INAPPROPRIATE RESPONSE THAT ANY RESTAURANT EMPLOYEE CAN GAVE A CUSTOMER !!!! DO NOT GO HERE!!! I DO KNOW what it's like to have a job like this because I worked with the public at Disney. I would have Never dreamed of treating a guest like this person treated me....

Strictly drive thru service when we arrived.
Second ... we used the drive thru. My companion ordered the chicken taco salad and I ordered two tacos with a large order of pinto beans.
Third ... at the pay and pickup window, I inquired as to why the inside was closed for dinning. We were informed that they had a plumbing problem ... most likely their bathrooms or kitchen.
If they had post this information on their restaurant entry doors ... we would have gone somewhere else for take-out that evening.
However, it was too late, we had given them our order not knowing why the dinning was closed.
El Pollo Loco should have been addressing the potential sanitary issues and customer safety concerns first and foremost.
Fourth ... the taco salad was fine with the exception of the chicken being slightly overcooked.
My chicken tacos were a disappointment because the chicken bits were minced and slightly overcooked with pieces of cartilage and bone mixed in. I also prefer corn tortillas over flour tortillas for their texture.
The pinto beans were undercooked and could have been simmered for an additional 20 to 30 minutes more.
There was just too many issues stemming from their plumbing problems that contributed to a failed dinner service that evening.
Inexperienced Management is at fault or someone was more concerned with making money at the risk of their customers well-being.
I'm mostly upset having been placed in the position of being the one having to write this review. It will be quite a while before I consider returning to this...
Read moreLet me start by saying that I grew up on Pollo Loco as a kid here in Tucson so this makes it even more depressingly painful to write this review. I want to support local restaurants as much as I can but I'm not going to get sick doing it if I can help it. When Pollo Loco came back to Tucson, I was very happy. I tried it and it was still good, not as good as when I was a kid but still a good option for food. Nine months ago, I went and it was terrible. I have gone a couple times since and still the chicken was dry, the sides were meh and the salad I like to put on my tacos hasn't ever been very fresh. My fault for returning but today takes the cake. I ordered half a chicken, a salad and black beans. Chicken was drier than the desert we live in. I call and say, "hey, I ordered food, blah blah, it was dry..." the guy says okay I'll replace your food, hold on a minute. 10 minutes later, still on hold. I am eating my dry af chicken as I can't go back atm with my 3 month old baby, and I open some salsa and put in on my taco and eat it. I smell something bad as I start to eat it and realize, after smelling it, that it is rancid and smells like rotten trash. Great thing for a breastfeeding mother to eat, right? I spit it out and threw the rest away, hung up, tired to call back, phone is off the hook still 45 min later. I was a little upset, now I'm disgusted on so many levels. I want my money, time and possible health back. ...
