I came in around 20 minutes until 7pm, which is 2 whole hours before close but don’t quote Nana on that because it’s often that they close hours early for no reason.
As soon as I entered the atmosphere was immediately negative, very loud, no host stand nor a sign telling you to sit yourself. A lady who unfortunately became our server didn’t even walk up to the front to tell us where to sit and started pointing at a table expecting us to understand her. When we didn’t move she started to approach and finally used her voice to tell us where to go.
For the first 5 minutes after being sat we were ignored by her until once she finally felt like to coming to get our drink order instead of talking in the corner with other servers and bartenders. We asked for a drink menu and were met with “We do not have a drink menu, or drinks often change.” I understand that maybe your house mixed drinks change but your wine/beer/spirit list does NOT change so much that you cannot have a list of it.
We ordered and waited about 30-40 minutes for 2 Burritos and 1 Chimichanga. Thankfully it was still hot but probably can only give that credit to the heat lamps since once again our server was just hiding with the other servers. Not once for the entire meal did she come over for anything besides the bill, obviously trying to get us out.
The only person in the restaurant that was actually worth anything was the busser who had grabbed us water and chips and was actually there asking if we need anything. I’ve only worked in the service industry my entire career and this is probably one of my worst experiences. Very rare do I ever not tip, if anything I argue against not tipping and have always tipped always at LEAST 20%, but this obvious lack of care and attention constituted my FIRST $0 tip. I even tipped the bussed but not her, really wish I got a name from the receipt but of course it didn’t have it on there and I’m too nice to complain to a manager.
The men’s bathroom was also incredibly cluttered with a huge Narnia inspired dresser infront of the sink with numerous boxes piled on top (probably containing cleaning products and toiletries, I’m sure that’s safe to be sitting in the air of pee and caca floating around).
The chips and salsa, probably neither of which were homemade, costed $4. They were all stale and unsalted, once again had to wait until the busser came around to ask...
Read moreMe and my husband recently dined at Nana's Nitchen and had a mixed experience. While the service and presentation of the food were impressive, there were certain aspects that left me wanting more.
Let's start with the positives. The service at Nana's Nitchen was truly commendable. The staff was friendly, attentive, and made sure I felt welcomed throughout my visit. The server was particularly great, offering helpful suggestions and ensuring all my needs were met promptly. Their professionalism definitely added to the overall enjoyable atmosphere.
The presentation of the food at Nana's Nitchen was undeniably beautiful. I had 3 different enchiladas and my husband had Carne asada chimichanga. The dishes were carefully arranged and visually appealing, which added a touch of elegance to the dining experience. Each plate was like a work of art, making it clear that the restaurant values aesthetic appeal.
However, the food itself was a bit of a letdown. While it was by no means bad, it failed to live up to the high expectations set by the service and presentation. The flavors were decent, but lacked that wow factor that makes a dining experience truly memorable. The taste was satisfactory, but I was hoping for a more exceptional culinary journey.
One area where Nana's Nitchen fell short was the wait time for the food. It took a considerable 40 minutes for my order to arrive at the table, which was a bit longer than expected. The delay was noticeable and somewhat inconvenient, especially if you're in a hurry or have time constraints. Improvements in their kitchen efficiency would greatly enhance the overall experience.
Lastly, it's worth mentioning that the prices at Nana's Nitchen were on the higher side. Considering the average quality of the food, the cost seemed somewhat unjustified. While I understand that premium ingredients and a pleasant ambiance can contribute to higher prices, it would be great to see a better balance between quality and value.
In conclusion, Nana's Nitchen offers a pleasant dining experience with friendly service and visually appealing food presentation. However, there is room for improvement in terms of food quality, promptness of service, and price point. With some adjustments, this restaurant has the potential to become an outstanding culinary...
Read moreToday I made the worst mistake by stopping and trying this restaurant. I have heard nothing but good things about this place from many different family and friends. So I decided to stop in with my two children and friend. We sat at a table and was greeted by a very pushy waitress. I thought maybe it was just because they where busy, but later to find out she is the worst waitress I have ever encountered. As I pulled up the menu on my phone, the waitress was unpaitiently waiting to take our drink order, we ordered and she left. As I said before I have never been there so I was looking over the menu, the waitress comes back with the drinks and plops them down in front over everyone and proceeds to get our food order. We order, and then we see a near by table get guacamole. It looks delicious so we order and she asks if we want pico in it? Which is a weird question for me because I thought all guacamole had the tomato and onion in it. So I say yes with pico and she goes and gets it. A few mins later the food comes out and it all looks good. We proceeded to eat the food in which most of it needed more salt. After we finished the food we asked for a box, we got the world's smaller box for half a quesadilla and taco. I get the bill and can't believe my eye's. As I am looking it over I noticed at the very end it says 14.95 for large guacamole. I could not believe it so my friend asks the waitress and she immediately gets defensive and says" I don't make the prices."so we ask for a manager and another lady comes up and we explain that the price for the guacamole can't be right. She takes the receipt to the bar area where she and about 5 other people surround her. She then comes back and says "I am sorry the computer made the mistake." I thought ohh ok it happens and was happy they corrected the bill. But it was not really fixed. The bill still was charging 10.99 for the guac. The lady proceeded to tell my friend and I it was because the price of avocado has gone up. I was in such disbelief that I told her I was never coming back. Then she walks away from the table and mocks my friend and I saying "I never, I never, I never." In front of customers and staff. I can not believe this kind of behavior is allowed by the staff at this restaurant. I will never seat foot in this...
