We had reservations for 6 and arrived about a half hour early. The hostess gave us the option to sit outside if we didn't want to wait for our table inside. Most of our family is a little sensitive to the sun but the patio had 4 gigantic umbrellas that covered the entire area, so we graciously accepted. Once at the table we were greated by our waiter, Ersen. He was very welcoming and explained the menu and specials perfectly. He also made some recommendations that we were sold on. One of the bottles of wine we were hoping for was out of stock and the recommendation he made in lieu of that did not dissappoint. Every one of us loved the appetizers and our individual entrees. We were raving about all of the dishes the entire time, sharing bites with eachother the entire time. To top it off we asked to see the desert menu, and instead Ersen said 'Don't worry about it, I'll take care of you'. He promptly returned with 6 small plates and then within about 5 minutes 2 large masterpieces, one of which he drizzled a hot chocolate sauce on top of from almost shoulder height. The presentation was amazing. Photos of it were taken by most of our party. I botched the video.... The first bites were like heaven. Normally we have a little grace with eachother when enjoying shareables, but not this time. No joke both of the serving plates were scraped clean within 4 minutes. Ersen came back to check on us, as he did multiple times during our visit, and we praised him for our entire experience. A true vet, so we thought. To our surprise he was just 25 years old and this was his first job in the service industry. Seriously people, give this place a try.
Side notes:
Our expectations for Davinci's were high because we ate at the neighboring restaurant, The Oyster Society, the evening before. It was nothing short of 5 stars as well. At the time we learned that Davinci's was under the same ownership. My dad had a chance to talk to the owner and he is actually the one who booked our reservation at Divinci's when they were already full. I mean come on, talk about making a group feel special.
To our surprise, while enjoying our meal at Davinci's, we learned that yet another neighboring restaurant, Marco Prime Steak and Seafood, is also under the same ownership. We pretty much had no choice but to book a reservation there for this upcoming Thursday. We are all looking forward to that.
Pro tip: It is my understanding that you can order off of any of the three menus at all three of the...
Read moreThis is our third visit to Marco Island and our second visit to DaVinci’s. The second time surely did not disappoint with the service, food and atmosphere still as dynamic as ever! Our dinner consisted of an appetizer of Burrata Caprese with prosciutto, creamy mozzarella, tomato with balsamic reduction and tomato bacon jam on arugula. What a starter for the beginning of our meal. I had a Bloody Mary and my wife ordered the Red Zinfandel. Both drinks were exceptional. Our salads were house salads with balsamic dressing and Italian bred and focaccia with sun dried tomato pesto and olive oil. I also tried the Minestrone soup which was flavorful, hearty and superb. For her entree, my wife ordered the Pollo Romana with chicken breast in a white lemon sauce with potatoes. The sauce was fragrant but did not have the bitterness of lemon as some restaurant meals serve. This was light and full of flavor with a hint of sweet lemon on the back. My entree was the Scialatelli Allo Scoglio which was created with Linguine, mussels, shrimp, and octopus in a sumptuous sauce. Do not let the small octopus deter you. It was cooked to perfection and had none of the over cooked rubbery feel as I have encountered in even finer restaurants. Our dessert was the Chocolate Profiterole with vanilla ice cream that was arguably the best we’ve ever had. The ice cream was the creamiest I’ve ever tasted. Reservations recommended since this is a popular spot with visitors and residents alike. The staff (our server was Khan) is attentive, quick to refill your water glasses and remove your empty dishes. Make a reservation, splurge on yourself, and enjoy one of the best dinners...
Read moreMy friends and I were visiting the area for a potential wedding venue and stopped in here for dinner, we made a reservation before hand because it was PACKED on a Saturday night. The menu is very nice and they offer gluten free options which was a necessity for us.
We each had something different from the menu. The house made bread was fresh and quite good. (One member of our party judges a restaurant by its free bread, he deemed this place acceptable, high praise from him)
I had the lobster ravioli. It was delicious, the pasta was high quality and the lobster tasted fresh, or at the very least not the prefilled processed stuff you often receive. For the price I think it was not the best value on the menu, $28 for 5 ravioli, but for the area being on the upper end of the wealth scale, it was probably what you'd expect. We also had at our table the gluten free penne with meat sauce, it was very well made and the portion was large. The prosciutto and arugula pizza was easily a good lunch portion for 2 people. And we also had a tortellini type dish (not called tortellini, some other stuffed pasta dish) the sauce was very well made and the filling was savory and well seasoned.
Overall this was a good experience, I'd give it 5 stars overall, but only 4 for...
