Well we arrived 6:20 pm place was not full. Sat us down explaining might be a a minute before someone came to my table that was fine at least they said that. After 5 minutes we had soup ordered and beverages on the way. Our servers name was Jonathan seem like a really nice person. When the soup was brought out we had placed that order for dinner. 30 minutes later I decided I'm going to smoke a cigarette maybe that would bring the food out quicker. Came back in two tables that had sat down after us were already served, waited till the server came back to our table approximately 10 minutes ask how is our food doing? His reply oh yes you came in before these other tables let me go check. Comes out about five minutes later with our order. My husband asked him for A1 steak sauce for his steak and I asked him the egg that was served on my brunch Burger to be over medium it came out over well he was said he was going to fix. About 7 minutes after I got up and went hunting for A1 steak sauce. Brought it back to the table the manager now bringing me back out the same egg telling me that I wanted it over well. I explained to him that was the same egg and that I wanted it over medium. He apologized and went back to get me another egg. About 10 minutes later I was now starting to fume I got up walked over to the kitchen door and yelled for one egg over medium long time. Sorry I work in the restaurant business so I know how it is and I also know it takes exactly one and a half minutes and four eggs be cooked over medium. In the meantime there was another table next to us wanting to get refills on their cocktails. And the guy kept replying every time our server looked over at his serving station he turned around and walked away like he was avoiding us. Again I work in the service industry and I know when I make a mistake I can say I'm sorry and I move on with this never will I ever ignore my station. So anyways as I was standing at the kitchen door asking for my egg the manager comes out with an egg cooked over medium well at this point I grab the egg and go back to my table. I can't believe that this poor guy couldn't shake it off. Another table waiting 15 minutes for it to go box. I really truly feel bad for the manager who is obviously picking up the slack. The manager did however come over to me and tell me he was going to comp my burger that's not what I wanted all I wanted is what I ordered but that was very kind of him. Finally about 8:20 Jonathan comes to the table to apologize we asked him for dessert and we also asked him honestly if it's going to take as long as dinner let us know we will not order it. So we go on to order our dessert and never mind you that was the whole reason I came to that restaurant and it was burnt. at this point the table that finally got a second refill on their cocktails now received their food and it was wrong the man got up and said he was leaving. At this point why would I complain about the burnt dessert I paid my bill and left. yes I also did tip him $5 because after all he is working for under minimum wage and everybody is entitled to a bad day but I have never seen such chaos in my life. We finally left the restaurant at 8:48 p.m. remind you we got...
Read moreLast Saturday my husband and I went to Margate and visited Applebee's to grab a bite to eat. This was our experience: *The host is nowhere to be seen when you first walk in. He only shows up after at least 5 minutes of waiting. I saw this happen at least 5 times within just one hour spent at this location (we were sitting by the door). Every time a new customer walked in, it would take him 5-10 minutes to acknowledge the new customer. *Portions are really small for the price. We got a sampler and soup. We were expecting the sampler to be bigger for almost $20, but I guess we're too used to Flannigan's portion sizes... As per the soup, the amount we got was not even a ladle full of it, even though we ordered two completely different types (I ordered tomato and basil and my husband ordered chicken tortilla). When asked why, the food runner said she could have the kitchen fix the portion ( always in the same size cup), but she would have to take them back to the cook, who would have to "re-do" them. I thought that explanation was simply both ridiculous and hilarious, so I asked if it was the usual think to do for them, to only make one portion per person or when ordered, but she didn't answer and just repeated herself. Then, she took them never to be seen again. We waited at least 10 minutes and had to call the waitress to ask her to bring them back. Mine was exactly the same soup, in the same bowl that was sent to the kitchen originally, only colder, and my husband got something that looked like what seemed to be the original portion of chicken tortilla soup he got originally, which had now been covered with some leftovers of the same soup. It honestly looked like vomit to me. *Waitress was good but sloppy (she almost drops really hot soup on my husband's lap). She also stunk of cigarette. *Frozen drinks taste like a Slurpy. I had a Ginger/Green Apple frozen drink that was mostly just a green, icey rum cocktail. This is unfortunately and definitely the first as well as the last time of our visits...
Read moreYou may be as surprised as I am to see such a low review on this feed, considering there’s so many five star reviews before this one. I was hoping for a different outcome after seeing the reviews, however, I was sadly disappointed. First, our family had to wait 10 minutes for someone to come by and even order our drinks. The manager actually ended up taking our order once we said something and when our desginated waiter finally came, instead of apologizing, he proceeds to give us an excuse that he wasn’t on the clock yet. So I guess we were supposed to just sit there unserved until he clocked in…? Next, we specifically visited this past Sunday hoping to watch the Falcons football game while dining. The restaurant was fairly slow (nearly dead!), so we didn’t think it would be a problem. We asked three different employees if they could change the channel to the game, all of which said yes, and continued to NOT change the channel; including the manager! In addition, there appeared to be an altercation between the manager and two other wait staff over availability of shifts. How do I know what it was about? They were THAT loud. Not only was this inappropriate because it distracted them from serving our needs, the altercation took place on the floor for all of their customers to hear and observe. Needless to say, the only good thing about this visit were the wings my husband ordered and even those weren’t good enough for us to risk going back and enduring the same service we...
