The last time I was in here it was a Tex Mex place serving burritos. The windows are tinted so it always looked dark and not open and although the food was fine I think that is why it didn't last.
Now it's a pizza place. There is a lot of competition in the area so if you want to make it you are going to have to stand out. Annie's pizza is located almost directly across the street and a short drive up is Mario the Baker. At least they have overcome their predecessor's mistake by adding a lot of lighting. They have decorated all of the trees in the parking lot in the colors of Italy. They have also added more lighting to the outside of the building which sends that the message that they are open.
Once I walked in it was clear that they sell New York style pizza. All of the walls are decorated with scenes of New York and tributes to their firefighters. One wall has giant flat screen TV's. Everything looks clean and new. They clearly put money into revamping the place. There is plenty of seating both indoors and out.
The menu lists all of the typical things you would to expect to find in a Italian restaurant. Pasta dishes, chicken, subs both hot and cold, and of course pizza. Since I was the only one dining tonight I settled on the $6.50 pizza special which included a fountain drink and two huge slices of pizza. The pizza was great and much larger than I expected. I plan on coming back to try some of the pasta dishes when I have my daughter to help me.
This was my first visit but I will definitely be back. I like that they have a real dining room so you don't just have to do takeout. The prices are inline with other establishments in the area. A lot of places say they serve New York style pizza but they seem to live it. In any case they satisfied this...
Read moreamazing food. Been ordering from anne Marie's for years. never been disappointed. I recommend all my friends and family and haven't ever heard a complaint from them either.
Edit: I had to come back and update this because as a person who frequently eats out I appreciate open and transparent pricing. The restaurant has raised prices due to a chicken wing shortage because of COVID and now wants $2 a wing. Pizza brew has them for 10 times cheaper and has said there is no shortage, seems kind of strange. I get that you have to raise prices to keep up with increasing overhead and money lost, but don’t lie about it just be honest. Still great food, great people just no longer great prices.
Another Edit: Thought I would give them another try, because their food has always been solid and I was in the mood for their calzone. Lost another star due to another pricing issue. It is more than likely not the restaurants fault, more the website developer not communicating with them. Their calzone price includes 3 toppings described on their website, but the actual price is no toppings included and $2 per additional topping. This was found on the online menu under order now on the top of their websites navigation drop downs. Not the actual ordering system, that reflects the correct pricing. The menu on the online ordering app is also not complete, it does not include sides available for the subs such as fries etc and their fries are not available on the online ordering app at all.
Again FOOD IS GOOD, not bashing the food at all, they've always tasted amazing and the chefs are great. The online developer they hired just messed up and they need to get this fixed. Not knowing the right price until you call...
Read moreI dnt what to say bout this place. I had time to spare before my appointment and decided to stop her for lunch. I ordered Fettuccini Alfredo with chic and broccoli. As well as a side salad and a drink. I sat down and salad and garlic bread came out promptly. Only issue with the salad was that there was no room to mix it in the small it came in. Which I had to take it out the bowl and put it on the plate came on causing me to have crumbs and topping go everywhere, table and my pants. But it was good once I managed to get together. Too much for such a small bowl. The pastas came out and I knew off rip I wasn't going to enjoy it. Big bowl of it, but as he was putting down the bowl the whole thing is jiggling like its soup. Took my spoon and fork to stir the pasta. And sure enough it was soup. There was sooooooooooo much sauce which horrible BTW. That when I tried to swirl the pasta around the fork and bring it towards my mouth the sauce just dripped like water on to my shirt. This dish need to be completely revamped. The sauce was just horrible it really was. No flavor and it tasted like the sauce had gotten over cooked and cuddled and cream or milk was use to loosen it back up. I will never dine here again. If this is Italian style food the sauces and pizza should be the main attraction...
