R C's Southern Cooking — Restaurant in Marietta

I've been a long-time patron of RC's Southern Cooking, so this review is long overdue. There are so many great options that it's hard to choose. Their fried chicken wings have me in a chokehold, so I usually get that. But this time, I had my family with me and they ordered some different menu items. (We turned it into family style dining sharing everything around the table, YUM!) My most recent visit was a weekday, so we ordered from what was on the regular menu (if there was a special of the day that day, it was probably sold out by then-- it was after 5pm). My brother got the turkey wings and dressing, with potato salad and greens, as sides. He said it felt like Thanksgiving. Those turkey wings were falling off the bone and DELISH! My niece ordered the slaw dogs... I know I never even noticed it on the menu. OMG'dns!... THEE BEST DOGS with chili and slaw. That chili was special! Kinda like a sloppy joe on a hot dog. As usual, my fried chicken wings with mac & cheese and blackeye peas were perfect. Oh so good! **the cornbread muffin deserves a round of applause

I love the vibe at RC's. Always friendly and welcoming to its guests. It was a slow day inside, so RC brought the meals out himself. (It's seldom really, 'slow' because their to-go work is crazy with Uber Eats or DoorDash). They cook with love and passion, and you can taste it in the food. I will continue to support this restaurant, and I never hesitate to tell other people to do the same. If I could describe the AMORMA that came from my takeout order as I drove home, I’d bottle it and sell it. It took me 20 minutes to travel to this gem but it was well worth it!

The Restaurant: Ok let’s be real, the inside of the place leaves a bit to be desired but most people seem to call their orders in for pickup, you could do the same. The TASTE of the food and portion sizes seriously make up for the underwhelming vibe you feel when you initially arrive. Both men were nice and helpful when I ordered and also were glad to share specials.

My order: Meatloaf dinner with three cheese mac and cream and steamed cabbage.

When I got home even after 2 stops my food was still hot and ready to be DEVOURED. I would easily give this place 10 stars if Google allowed it all for great portions and really well seasoned food. YUMMY Everything was DELICIOUS, the meatloaf I could not stop eating and I’m still FULL 2 hours later. Did I mention I have another slice of meatloaf and half of the sides I ordered left. I look forward to reheating my food and enjoying the rest either tonight or tomorrow! If you are in need of a home cooked meal that reminds you of gran this is the place for you. Ive constantly passed the place for 5 years I have been living in Kennesaw/Marietta. I was always curious, but never stopped until recently. So my rating: Not bad and I'm sure anyone missing a good home cooked meal will be delighted with the food here. The eating area was small. This is definitely real southern cooking.I love to try variety of things so I had the Turkey wings, dressing, Mac&cheese, collard greens, potato salad, meatloaf, and banana pudding. There were some hits and a few misses. The meatloaf was definitely a "miss". Someone in reviews said it was the best meatloaf they'd ever had. They must have been from up North. (No offense) ijs. It was a bit dry and bland for my taste. The Mac &cheese was cool, the cornbread was good. The dressing was pretty good, although I'm not a fan of the sage, which is a normal ingredient in dressing. The banana pudding was the star of this show. It tasted exactly like my grandmother's, however possible that could be. It was super sweet, but that's how I like it.
