Iced Bakery — Restaurant in Marion

Our experience with Iced Bakery was great. We contacted her about supplying the cakes for our wedding via Facebook Messenger, and she responded pretty quickly. I never had to wait for more than a day for a reply.

The bakery is located inside of the Marion Guns & Gold pawn shop, so it can be hard to notice sometimes when you drive by. But all you have to do is walk in and ask for Iced Bakery and they will send you to her counter.

I went in to meet and discuss cake options with her. She gave us a sample platter of the flavors that we were thinking of. And when I say sample, I don't mean just a small bite. Each flavor sample was a large cupcake of that specific flavor. We had to get our family members to help taste test because we were going to get full if we ate every single one!

You pay her a down payment to reserve a specific date. This is nice because it helps guarantee that the cakes will be made in time for your event. And let me tell you, these cakes are great.

We went with 5 sheet cakes. Each of our cakes was a specific flavor (Death by Chocolate, Tiramisu, Lemon, Strawberry Champagne, and Marble), but you could also do a half-and-half combination if you'd like. We ordered the sheet cakes.

The only recommendation I have is to try and increase the slice size from 2x2 to 3x3. This will decrease your slice amount per cake from 96 to about 68 or so, but we still had no issues keeping up with demand.

By far the topic that got the most praise from our wedding was the cakes. Everyone loved them. Chocolate was a big hit. It was all gone before people finished going through the actual dinner line! We definitely should've gotten 2 chocolate cakes.

The pricing is very reasonable, especially when you factor in the quality. It's also nice that she accepts multiple forms of payment, like cash, check, Venmo, etc.

I have not yet been able to order anything yet from here which is to my own fault on timing. But each time I have reached out the owner, she is so responsive!! She always tells me when to try back and never made me feel dumb for requesting something within not the best time frame. I attended a birthday party last week which was target theme and I got to try her cupcakes and cookies! Wowza!!! Amazing cupcakes, light, fluffy and so tasty. As soon as I had a bite of the cookie it for some reason reminded me of sugar cookies on Christmas Day. I don’t know this owner at all but she is a hustler and busts her butt! I was surprised by family out of state with a cake for my baby shower. I hadn't heard of Iced Bakery until then. Boy, am I glad they picked IB. It was SO beautifully decorated AND it tasted incredible. She wasn't available to do a bday cake (It was super short notice) so I had to go elsewhere..... that cake was beautifully decorated, too, but it tasted awful. We didn't even eat it, just threw it out. Then, w a lot of notice, I ordered a father's day cake from IB and once again.....amazing! Iced Bakery or no one else...
