I ordered take-out.The food was just "okay" compared to other Mexican places I’ve been to. The prices were so-so, but for the quality of food I received I feel like they were a little high, especially considering my entree didn't even come with rice or refried beans, where as every other Mexican restaurant I've ate at you get them complimentary. I got the Marco Pollo, and which the chicken w,las so tough I had to use a sharp knife to cut bites off and it wasn't enjoyable to chew up. Also to come on the side was shredded cheese, lettuce and sour cream, when I opened the to-goncontainer with those items in it, it was all mixed together and looked like a salad. I would have much prefered them being separated, because maybe I didn't want to use all of each of them. I also got a side of queso and chips, and the queso was definitely on the spicy side which they didn't note on their menu, so I didnt even get to enjoy it...so wasted my money. When in got there to pick up my food, I didn't feel welcomed at all, I stood there for a couple of minutes before somebody decided to help me. Staff didn't give of friendly vibes, but rather annoyed vibes. Once I let them know I was there to pick up a to-go order, I waited an ther 10 minutes before they brought it out to me, which let me mite, when I called in they said it'd be 20-30 minutes, which is kind if a long time in my opinion, especially for there not being very many people there eating. Anyways, I got there 32 minutes after I placed the order, so I most definitely didn't expect to have to wait even longer. Overall, I wasn’t impressed, and not sure if I will give them. An ther chance considering there are so many other delicious Mexican...
Read moreThe feel when walking in the door was very cold and like a warehouse. Decor seemed very thrown together. Waitress told us to sir anywhere. All booths were dirty. We informed server that we desired a booth and that we could wait to have one cleaned. She cleaned the booth but it took awhile.. It appeared as if they were short staffed. I saw 2 servers.. It took awhile for drinks. The server had forgotten to give us menus.. by the time we got menus we had been here for over 15 mins.. I thought well they may have had a rush and she's trying to catch up.. I can understand that ... By the time she took our order I felt rushed and before I could finish ordering she walked away. So our food came out wrong. It was sent back and fixed. When asked for a refill it took awhile. By this time this place was not busy at all. She finally brought a refill. Then a few minutes later brought more pop.. seemed overkill... She didn't ask if we needed a box just attempted to take our plates.. Had to stop her.. She asked if we wanted our pop to go.. I said no thank you just one for my son since you brought extra pop.. she brought to cups... I am torn on how I really feel about this place.. food was great in flavor. Server seemed to try to redeem herself.. But the overall experience.. Warehouse feel.. Just makes me feel like I may not return.. Hope for things to get better for la cantina seems like it...
Read moreWe most generally love eating at La Cantina in Marion. Today is Cinco De Mayo so we decided to order some food and margaritas. We ordered Tacos Alambre, Burrito Chilango Grande (pictured) and a cheese quesadilla. The tacos came with no tortillas, the Burrito came with a few pieces of pork and nothing else. No sour cream, no guacamole, no lettuce, nothing, Everything was cold. We ordered at 4:30 PM, our cold, incomplete meal showed up at 7:00 PM. I tried calling 25 times for my order and could not get through so I ordered on Grub Hub. Since I could not order margaritas online, i jumped in the car to run down there because we only live a couple of blocks away, I figured I could pick up our margs and get back before the food arrived, our first time of delivery given was between 5:05 and 5:15. After standing in the rain in a line of 4 people, 2 picking up called in orders and 2 trying to place orders, for close to half an hour, being totally ignored, I headed to the store to get the ingredients and make my own margs. Today is Cinco De Mayo, you would have to imagine that they would be very busy today. From what I could see at the restaurant, they were completely understaffed and very poorly managed. Nobody seemed to have a clue what was going on. We usually have nothing but good things to say about this place but today...
