I was here last week (yes, should have posted earlier) with friends. We had come into town for a quilt event and found this gem of a restaurant just a few blocks away. I wasn’t sure about the origin of the name until I arrived. If you are a Star Wars fan you’ll understand immediately! We got there about 1ish and every table but one was taken and that speaks to the local appreciation of the place.

The menu features many of my favorites like brisket and wings but all of those were smoked with Obi’a Meat Magic applied beforehand. The mix unfortunately had sugar in it. When I asked the waitress what I could get that didn’t have sugar my lone choice was a brisket burger. This burger is brisket meat ground and then formed and cooked into a burger. I ordered that with a side salad sans dressing. It was good but disappointing to watch my one friend eat the wings which she said were great. My other friend had a bbq pulled pork sandwich which had enough meat for her to take home for another sandwich.

Service was good. Our one table wasn’t yet cleared but done promptly when they saw us enter. The waitress answered my questions and had to go ask about the spice mix for me. Food came out quickly. No problems splitting up the bill. All in all if you aren’t as picky about sugar as I am, you’ll love this place! Unfortunately, not a return trip to this...

Very cute little spot located in downtown Marion. My mom and I came in Tuesday night, and we went a little crazy with the BBQ platters, but we wanted to try as much as we could. The "meat candy" pork belly was divine, perfectly seasoned, and didn't even need sauce to dip in! I got the pulled chicken, pulled pork and rib tips. The mac and cheese tastes amazing, the salad was very fresh, but I think the winner for me were the baked beans. My mom and I battled for the last bite, and I even ordered some to go with my leftovers. Big portions, you'll definitely need a to go box. The sauces are homemade, definitely try out the raspberry Chipotle sauce. We got some dessert to go, because we were full beyond belief, and we got the pecan cake. It was the most decadent, delicious cake I've ever had. Like a perfect cross between pecan pie and butter cake. Unfortunately for our lack of self-control, the cake didn't make it out of the restaurant. Obi's is one of those places where you know the owner brings his own family recipes to share with the world. They delivered on every level. I highly recommend you check them out sooner than later. Once word spreads, it'll be get busier from...

The worst service I've ever experienced. I used to come here when they first opened but the service got so bad I stopped going. I decided I would pick up some food on the way home tonight so I could enjoy the food and avoid the bad service. NOPE!!!!...When I arrived this lady, with a very rude demeanor, tosses my order on the counter and barks out to me that they don't have potatoes, stuffed bake potatoes was my wife's dinner, and I would just have to order something else and stormed away. I immediately asked for a refund because I don't want half my order and I don't want to wait for you to make me something I didn't want to begin with. The owner comes over and hands me 11 bucks, I guess he thought I wanted my money back for just the potato, and starts to leave. I told him that I want a complete refund as I'm not going home with just my dinner and not my wifes. He then tells me that I would need to get a refund from door dash, I did not use door dash to purchase my meal and even if I did I am not leaving without my refund. He eventually gives me a refund with a "Here" no apology or nothing. Like this is my fault. Foods is good though...you know, if you can...

Visited 1/14/22 The place was clean and open. They didn’t have a lot of people when we visited. The waitress was prompt and quick. Food was good, but, the hot 🥵 sauces are not hot. Mild would be my take on them. The jalapeño peppers we’re hotter than the sauces. I tried all the sauces. We ordered the loaded nachos, with brisket add on. The nacho cheese is thick, and out of a can. The beans are “pork n beans” also appears to be out of a can. The brisket was delicious, we asked for less fatty brisket. The cole slaw was okay. 1/2 lb of rib tips, these came out, were good including the bones. LOL Greek salad was awesome, it was huge, filled with peppers, cucumbers, olives, feta cheese, tomatoes and of course salad. 2 brisket sliders, these were requested with less fat. They were cooked perfectly. We asked for a sample before ordering the Mac n cheese. It was hot and we loved it. This is worth the visit!!!

My nonprofit group was looking for a great place for a lunch meeting while we were in Marion, IN. We stumbled across Obi’s and were SO pleased with our experience. I got the smoked Turkey sandwich and my friends got the smoke chicken sandwich and smoked chicken with sides. Everyone at the table was raving about the sauces. My husband and I stayed and hung out once we saw a sign for smoked Turkey legs. We can’t usually get those in Indianapolis so we special ordered and drank some beers. The smoked Turkey legs were HUGE and smoked to perfection. Obi the owner was so sweet and told us all about how they won a contest to start the restaurant in that location. The servers were incredible. I would go back every day if we didn’t live 1.5 hrs away. Thanks so much for the best bbq food in Indiana!
