Applebee's Grill + Bar — Restaurant in Marquette Township

Update We dined here on 13 Mar 22...we requested a table away from the door as it was cold. Based on the reveiw I posted previously which follows this one, it appears that the temperature is an ongoing issue at this particular restaurant. I came with my 68 year old mother and her 68 year old friend as well as some young teen boys. We pointed out 2 other tables that were not being used and the waitress (Claire) indicated they were. When my mother questioned how, the waitress stated they were dirty. When I told her the reason was because the older population gets colder faster and sitting next to the swinging front door is quite chilly, she refused still to move us even though we offered to split our group up. There was genuinely zero concern for our comfort and especially for the older population. Additionally, I observed Claire being very superficially fake in her interactions with my mother and her friend. It was very bizarre behavior.

Was the food good? Yes. My mother did have to send hers back to be reheated as the broccoli was cold but otherwise, it was good food. I got the chicken penne which is pictured with this review. However...it stands to reason that when you are next to the swinging door on a cold day, your food doesn't stay hot long.

Would score less if I could. Have been to Applebee's many times and aways love it, however this time was awful. Maybe it was a bad day for the staff, but wow the worst service and unfriendly staff ever. From the minute we got the and the host asked one of the staff to seat us and we heard her tell him..."she didn't want to seat anymore"( whinny voice) we should have turned and left. After seated we waited and waited....than waitress showed up we ordered water (extra ice in mine...none) and our food . Food was brought out by runners and as I lifted the first spoon of soup to my mouth, waitress was there to check on us. Than set the bill down and told me there was no hurry to pay it. She showed up 3 times to see if I had the bill for her. We never finished...got Togo boxes and paid our bill....by the way wanton tocos don't travel well so had to toss them into the garbage. Have always love Applebee's. But after today, not so much. We arrived around noon. Several people coming in at the same time. I was the first to enter and asked for a table for 2 as my husband held the door for the others. I was told a 15 minute wait and said we would eat at the bar. Instantly, before we even reached the bar 2 people were seated and then 2 more and then 3 more. The bar tender was quite rood to us , maybe because we were order food and not drinks. After we ordered my husband questioned the hostess regarding the table situation as there were 6 empty ones with no covid social distancing as many booths right next to each other were occupied.. she said we wanted to sit at the bar. No, we didn't want to wait 15 minutes. So we told the bartender we were moving to a party bar. But wait it gets better. We watched six tables that came in after us get their food and only one table had appetizers. After another 35 minutes.... we left. Wow, hire some people who actually...
