What happened to McDonald’s? The planned 3 day hype took 3 weeks. A renovation that was meant to enhance the experience has instead stripped away basic comforts, leaving customers with a net loss.
Let’s break it down:
Repainting the building – A needed upgrade, no complaints here.
Adding a delivery area – Sure, that’s useful.
Re-wallpapering – Unnecessary. Was this really a priority?
Replacing the chairs – again, Why? The old ones worked just fine.
Removing drink machines, condiments, and ketchup dispensers – A MAJOR inconvenience. Why force customers to wait in line for essentials? It creates more stress for workers who are already overwhelmed. Is theft so rampant that this was necessary? Customers expect self-service for simple things like refills.
Eliminating checkout kiosks – A baffling decision. These kiosks were crucial during busy times, handling overflow when the restaurant was packed with bus trips, seniors, and commuters. They have less registers and still one person running their ass off between the drive through, packaging and the front!
This renovation has downgraded the location to the level of a glorified truck stop or a gas station McDonald’s. McDonald’s built its name on convenience, but these changes are anything but. What was once a comfortable, efficient experience has become a hassle for both customers and staff.
McDonald’s, if you’re listening, this isn’t progress—it’s a step backward.
Poor form.
It sounds like McDonald's may have made some unfortunate decisions in the renovation, prioritizing aesthetics and operational changes over customer convenience. The removal of drink machines, condiments, and kiosks, in particular, seems like a significant downgrade, especially when those features contribute to a more efficient and pleasant customer experience.
The argument could be made that McDonald's might be attempting to streamline their service to match new delivery and digital trends, but in doing so, they’ve overlooked the in-store experience that many regular customers—especially seniors and commuters—rely on. Instead of focusing on customer-friendly features like the drink machines and kiosks, they seem to have created more inefficiencies for both staff...
Read moreI am new to the Marshall area and work very close to this McDonalds. Its convenient to go to before or after work however due to a very rude worker, I believe her name is Jeanie - foreign accent - shoulder length blonde hair/glasses, that is always rude I will no longer be giving my money to this location. I always purchase food and drinks and then order a large cup of only ice, she always snaps at me about how I should be charged for the cup of ice. I've tried telling her I have no issue with paying for it, however she needs to take it up with the person taking the order. Last week I ordered my usual and she hands me a cup of water, I explained that it was supposed to be a large cup of heavy ice and she gave me an attitude about not being paid for it and that she just can't provide free services to me. I, multiple times, tried to show her my receipt and explain I WAS charged for the ice and she kept saying "no you weren't", finally as she was handing me my cup I pushed the receipt at her and told her yes I was charged for it. She slammed the window shut on me. Today, 5/22/18, I went through the drive through and ordered my normal, I once again was not charged for the cup of ice and asked if they could please charge me so that I didn't get yelled at by this lady when she handed me my food, I heard her in the background a lady state "that's me", when I got to her window I tried to explain that I asked them to charge me for the cup, but they had not and I would pay her the .27 cents if she would like, she told me "don't be stupid", I said excuse me, I am trying to pay for this becuse you always want me to and are rude to me, she said "I'm not the one taking the order". I asked her why she is always rude to me and she told me she never is and slammed the window shut and walked away. I waited there while another girl, who is very, very nice, provided my food for me. Her and I discussed the lady and the issue and she stated she had just gotten snapped at for not charging me and that numerous people have issues with this lady and nothing is ever done to remedy it. The owners need to do something about her attitude, it's costing...
Read moreI know this location likes to mess up orders and not compensate you for your time or wasted gas money traveling back to get it fixed. (I live in Marshall and have just recently started coming back to this location after a 4 or so year boycott.) So check my order everytime. This time I ordered curbside. When I got there I checked in and it seemed to work. After about 5 minutes I checked my phone the app said the curbside did not work go to the drive thru. After a 10 minute wait behind 5 cars in line I got to the window. When I got my order I pulled to the side to check it. I checked one sandwich and it was right and everything else seems to be in order so I drive home. When I get home I get our food out. Among other items there were 2 Sausage Mcmuffins. Or so I thought. They were just Mcmuffins and cheese no sausages. I get back in my car drive back. I pull straight up to the window cause by this time they're not busy. A delightful fellow named Delroy opens the window. For context on how terrible this location is to me I give Delroy 5 stars, 2 thumbs up, but still only give them a 1 star review. Anyway I asked what the heck is this as I show him the sandwiches. He just shakes his head in disbelief. He says we'll get these remade for you. I ask can I get a sandwich card or something to compensate my wasted time and gas. He says I'll have to ask my manager. He comes back with the sandwiches and told me the manager said no. I tell him thats ridiculous and ask for his, his managers and the owners name as well as the owners phone number. I have decided to skip calling the owner and I'm calling corporate when they open. I will be letting them know about my experience. Needless to say I will not be going back to that location for a long time...
