Today I purchased one dozen #1 male crabs from Cameron’s Seafood in Frederick, MD. Since I am staying in a nearby hotel, I had them cook the crabs while I waited. After getting the bag of steaming crabs I was so excited to drive back to the hotel and dive in. Unfortunately, when I pulled the first crab and started opening it up to eat the meat was mushy and the flavor was bad. The crab was clearly WAY overcooked which is unfortunate because it had density and size. After that first crab there was no way I was going to start opening others because then I have no grounds to ask for a return on my invested funds. I called the store to inform them of what I experienced, and the owner argued a moment and then said to bring the crabs back and he will give me my money back. That was followed by a sharp disconnect via him hanging up the phone. Great, I was going to let things end there but when I bring the crabs in, the owner proceeded to open another crab and give me a lecture on how to eat crabs, he’s been in business 27 years and he gives a good product, blah, blah, blah. SIR, I was born and raised in Maryland, so I’ve been eating crabs since I was 2! When I purchase food and you cook the food, I expect to be able to eat 100% of the food I purchased. Not 50%, not 60%, I expect to be able to eat 100% of what I purchase from your establishment. If you can’t provide a quality product, then ONLY sell the seafood live. I wouldn’t even be writing this review if you had not been so antagonistic and insulting. You are a business owner so act appropriately and produce the quality product you claim to provide....

I called at 9:30 to make an order to pick up around 1:30. The order was for large or extra large crabs. I was told he will not take any orders for large or extra large crabs until 1. I said why not, he said because I don't know if we'll have them or not. I told him to go check and he refused. Although this may seem a little picky, I tried ordering a week prior at 12:30 and was told that he had already sold out on large or extra large crabs. So it didn't make a whole lot of sense to tell me that I can't make an order till 1 but the week prior he had sold out by 12:30. I've ordered entire bushels of large and extra-large crabs from here before. So with my last two experiences being terrible, and the customer service never being all that great in the first place, I'm finding less and less reason to go to Cameron's for my Seafood. The crabs are typically good but on occasion they will be burnt or there are a few too many Duds in a half bushel or bushel. The food is good enough to return to Camerons but I'm doing whatever I can to find somewhere else to go in Frederick because the customer service is not...

We tried Cameron's last night because we were craving good seafood and thought, being in Maryland, that this place sounded like it couldn't miss. It was the worst seafood we have ever had. We ordered their spicy shrimp platter, the crab cake platter, calamari, and two soups (lobster bisque and cream of crab). All of the items lacked flavor and spice including the "spicy" shrimp. It was just one bland item after another. Even the soups were lacking in flavor and the "cream" overwhelmed the seafood. We have traveled all over the world and have dined in many coastal areas where they have highlighted the fresh seafood options available and this restaurant certainly did not do that. We threw out a majority of the food and instead settled on peanut butter sandwiches, which as grown adults, that says a lot about this food. We feel we would have been better off going to any chain restaurant, as their seafood options would have far surpassed what we tried to eat last night. We will not be returning and I would strongly suggest you look elsewhere, any where else, for a good...

While stationed in Maryland many years ago I fell in love with the crab. After returning to NJ, I opted to drive 3 to 4 hours to MD for crabs. Since 2018, I had my crabs shipped to Alabama, as I did yesterday and I can say after paying almost $300 for crabs from this place.IT WILL NEVER HAPPEN AGAIN. Nothing about the crabs taste like they're from the Chesapeake. I received the worse of the worse, broken shells and all. As a crab lover, I expect to get 1 or 2 that are bad, but basically every other crab taste like it could have come from the Hudson River or a port a potty. Take a good look at the pics, notice how there are hardly any legs, that's because out of a half a bushel 10 had 1 leg, none had two legs. Highly disappointed Looking for a new crab spot!

Ordered a catfish platter was given what looked fairly crunchy and cooked on the outside but when I started to eat it the meat is pink and purple looking, when I said something to the staff they told me it's normal... Ive eaten a lot of catfish in my life and never seen it look like this. I couldn't even finish my food... Lost my appetite 🤢 disappointed cause I use to eat Cameron's often havent been in more than a year and this is what I get for coming back yuck! I have photos but the review will not allow me to upload with my review only separate oddly enough.
