Today I purchased one dozen #1 male crabs from Cameron’s Seafood in Frederick, MD. Since I am staying in a nearby hotel, I had them cook the crabs while I waited. After getting the bag of steaming crabs I was so excited to drive back to the hotel and dive in. Unfortunately, when I pulled the first crab and started opening it up to eat the meat was mushy and the flavor was bad. The crab was clearly WAY overcooked which is unfortunate because it had density and size. After that first crab there was no way I was going to start opening others because then I have no grounds to ask for a return on my invested funds. I called the store to inform them of what I experienced, and the owner argued a moment and then said to bring the crabs back and he will give me my money back. That was followed by a sharp disconnect via him hanging up the phone. Great, I was going to let things end there but when I bring the crabs in, the owner proceeded to open another crab and give me a lecture on how to eat crabs, he’s been in business 27 years and he gives a good product, blah, blah, blah. SIR, I was born and raised in Maryland, so I’ve been eating crabs since I was 2! When I purchase food and you cook the food, I expect to be able to eat 100% of the food I purchased. Not 50%, not 60%, I expect to be able to eat 100% of what I purchase from your establishment. If you can’t provide a quality product, then ONLY sell the seafood live. I wouldn’t even be writing this review if you had not been so antagonistic and insulting. You are a business owner so act appropriately and produce the quality product you claim to provide.
