I love this little carryout Chinese restaurant. I believe this place is family owned. I'm consistently happy with the food we get from China house: it's hot fresh and always filled to the brim. We usually order General Tso's Chicken but I have also had: Crispy Eggplant (which they use the delicious Gen Tsos sauce in), Curry beef, Szechuan Beef, Beef w/ Brocolli, Curry Shrimp, hot n' sour soup and won ton soup. This place does not skimp on fresh veggies and the meat!
The food that is labeled spicy is spicy but not overbearing... my boyfriend who does not enjoy spicy foods LOVES the Gen Tsos chicken! However, expect the Szechuan to be a tad more spicy!
I love the batter on the crispy eggplant, it is a soft tempura style breading.
The only negative I can think of is that I wish the soups had more stuff in them (ie. Hot & Sour needs more mushrooms, chicken, tofu, bamboo shoots, etc. It is also very mild).
Overall, I LOVE this place and they will always have my business. This family is kind and polite, so be sure to tip them if you...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreHorrible experience. Iļø used to order from China house allll the time. The delivery guy got mad one time because my mom received the food at my door and didnāt give a tip. Iļøt wasnāt her card to tip on. Remember.. Iļø order from here all the time, he wouldāve got his tip the next time that Iļø placed an order. He told my mom that he wouldnāt deliver to my house ever again because she didnāt tip him. Last Iļø checked, a tip is discretionary. Iļø paid full price for my food. If a tip was REQUIRED they should include that in every delivery order that they receive! Dominos includes a ādeliveryā fee with ever order. China house can do the same. Iļø went to the location to speak to the owner and the lady that answers the phone tried to call the police on me and Iļø didnāt even offend her in any way. Iļø ended up speaking with the chef about my issues but he barely spoke English so nothing was resolved. Long story short: they told me to take my reoccurring business elsewhere because my mom didnāt...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWe finally tried China Wok in Eldersburg (formerly China House). It was pretty average but I enjoyed the flavor of the sauces. I ordered the Mongolian Beef and it had a nice spice š¶ļø and flavor to it but the only vegetable it had was onions and scallions. Lots of onions. I love onions but it was too many onions and could have used at least one other variety of vegetable. š§ š„“The meat was thin sliced and tender... But there wasn't much meat. The Gen tsos chicken was good made with dark meat and nicely breaded but some pieces were overcooked. I enjoyed the sauce. The hot and sour soup had a nice flavor but there wasn't much substance to it. The wonton soup (which I'm sorry I forgot to photograph) was the best and had nice broth. The service was fast and friendly. If I go again I probably won't get Mongolian beef or the hot and sour again. Based off my first experience this is an average Chinese restaurant. I will try to update this review when...
