I have been to the shopping center in Eldersburg quite a few times, and I always wondered about this new Mexican taqueria. Today, I decided to try their tacos for lunch. The rest of this review will detail that this was a great decision!
I ordered six tacos because I wanted to try all of them, but I knew that I wouldn't be able to eat each kind that they make. So I got lengua, cabeza, chorizo, carnitas, arabe, and lamb. Thinking that I even might be able to eat six of their tacos was wildly ambitious, because these tacos are huge! Thankfully, they are also delicious, so I ate three for lunch, and I'm going to have an awesome dinner with the remaining three tacos. And I'm still pretty astonished at how large the tacos are, and how full of meat they are.
They give you a very generous portion of sliced limes and sliced cucumbers. I had never been served cucumbers with tacos before, but I'm definitely a fan because they go perfectly well with the tacos. They also included some green sauce and some red sauce. I cannot really say which is better because I loved them both.
I only ordered my food to go, so I can only say a couple of things about the service. When I walked in, everyone was friendly. One guy (maybe the owner?) took my order and they had it ready in ten minutes. Everyone was polite and friendly.
The restaurant was well-lit, clean, and nice. Even though I just got my order to go, I would absolutely come back with my family. In fact, I hope to take everyone there as soon as possible!
Bottom line -- you should go and check them out to see if you like their food as much as I do. You will not be disappointed! If I cannot spare the money or the time to fly out to southern California, then I'll gladly eat at Taqueria...
Read moreWe found this place by happenstance after stopping at the snowball stand. A small Mexican place in a strip mall next to a liquor store is usually a good sign of authentic food. The inside is larger than it appears. We got there just after 5 and the place was pretty empty which was a concern. They had a great variety of dishes, some of which we were not familiar with so the menu was not the standard americanized recipes. They also had like 6 Molcajete options, awesome. The chips were thick and crunchy, and served with both a red and green salsa. The green salsa was fantastic. My wife and I ordered a Molcajete Mary Tierra to split. I got a coffee as well as they had a coffee bar. My son ordered a ceviche, they had a few options there and the waiter suggested a different one but first time trying we decided on the simpler one. My daughter in law ordered a mix burrito with potatoes. The coffee cup was a beautiful set, the coffee was a but weak unfortunately. The food came out, and the portions and presentation were great. First the ceviche was alot, and served with more chips. It was very tasty, a bit different than the type we are used to as there was some red sauce added. We ended up taking two thirds home, an amazing deal. The burrito was massive, she ate just half and a few of the potatoes and was stuffed. The Molcajete was delicious and had such a variety of ingredients, since it was split between 2 we ate most but still took a third of it home. As we started eating the place started filling up with patrons, we found out the place had only been open since January. If we are in the area we will definitely be back, or may just take a trip to try out some more of the menu. Be sure to check them out, and bring a...
Read moreI hate that I gave four stars because I’m always rooting for small businesses.
Went yesterday for dinner around 7pm. Very clean which is always a plus. The menu is huge too, so many things to choose from. Service was quick and efficient.
I ordered the mole enchiladas. It came with rice and four enchiladas. The chicken was tender. The mole did not impress me at all. They use so much of it on top which is fine but they also mix it in with the chicken. The mole has a very overwhelming flavor of chili powder. I am a chili powder fan too, but with this mole I tasted almost only chili powder. The rice was good. The salsa for sure is jarred. The chips were my favorite part, they’re so so good. My spouse got an al pastor taco, I had a bite and it was pretty good too.
It was our first time here, we typically go to the place that is in the old Twin Kiss building. I am for sure going to try this place again and order something different because the taco was good. Might just be my tastebuds were off who knows?
And I ordered a coke and got a Mexican coke, that was delicious. Paper straws though, hate them...
