Diablo's Cantina — Restaurant in Maryland

Disappointed isn’t even the word. As a foodie who’s actually visited the Vegas location and gets paid to share places with my community I was looking forward to visiting and sharing this place with my community. The marketing for this restaurant was amazing! The ads I seen across social media marketed the establishment so well. I was expecting much more. The hostess were such sweet girls! I decided to sit at the bar. I sat there 20 minutes before I was even greeted. I had to ask for water lol. I was given an abbreviated menu (that was dirty and had salsa on it) with maybe 10 items that were very underwhelming. The bar staff presented a QR that had the full menu. I found some vegan tacos and a few other options I wanted to try. When i attempted to order that with the woman bartender she told me that menu was unavailable. I informed her that I maintain a mostly vegan diet and asked her if she could ask the chef he would able to accommodate my request. She never asked him. About 20 minutes later she asked if I found something on the menu I would like. At that time I just gave in and ordered the fish tacos. I hadn’t ate all day, had been there all day and was drinking one of their watered down cocktails, a watermelon martini. When the tacos and rice came out there was no sauce and the food was cold and bland. A couple came and the woman bartender began offering them items that weren’t on the menu. When I asked her about what they ordered she gave me a lot of pushback like she just didn’t want to accommodate or was bothered I asked her questions. A man came out and stopped by the couple. He said he ran the restaurant. When he finished speaking with the couple I expressed my grievances to him. He also declined to accommodate mu request and said next time I come to ask for him and he would take care of me. I paid my check (the bartender gave me two entirely different bills by the way LMAO) and just left. I was over it. Sad to say there won’t be a next time and I will not have such a favorable experience to share with my community eithee. The place had so much potential but wasn’t worth what I paid for subpar food or service. If you want good food or barria style anything stay in DC don’t go here you will be just as disappointed as me and some of the other patrons were...

My friends and I came here last month and I wish we would have taken pictures of the food. Now I know they have 3.3 stars and normally non of us would have even looked at a place with less than 4.3 stars, HOWEVER… we were in the casino and didn’t bother to do any research before going in to eat.

My friends were celebrating their anniversary so we were just down for the vibes. It was a Tuesday and we heard the live music so we went right to the hostess stand to be seated.

Immediately we order guac, salsa and queso. I work at an authentic Mexican restaurant in DC and I will be transparent. The guac was great, even made with jalapeño however just a touch more lime and salt and it would have been amazing. I do recommend the guacamole!

The salsa was some of the best salsa we have ever had. It was a red salsa, spicy, smoky and we can’t figure out how they did this but it was also a bit creamy. As if they took salsa and a spoon of queso and stirred it in. The salsa was so amazing I still think about it. I love a spicy salsa so that was a plus. Very flavorful I do recommend.

The queso was great, nothing special but I highly recommend it was white queso with the perfect the texture.

We shared chicken fajitas and the nachos. The portions were great. Nice and shareable and we were all satisfied! The chicken was a bit dry in my opinion, however the presentation of all the food was wonderful. The nachos were smoky, spicy, crispy and savory.

We have already said when they come back in town we will have to visit again. Next time we will take pictures before we dig in! The fact that we have no pictures to share should tell you all you need to know.

We had a drink and a shot at the casino bar before we came and we loved the atmosphere. Our waitress was kind enough to bring out a dessert and sparklers since they were celebrating their anniversary.

I want to start off by saying idalia was incredibly rude and unprofessional. My boyfriend and I came here last Thursday around 9pm and there was a Dj with a dance floor full of people. We were greeted outside of the restaurant by idalia, who stated since we didn’t have a reservation the only table that was available was in the front next to the Dj. So we were sat there. The music was so loud, and a lot of foot traffic so he went to the back to find several open tables before returning to our table in the front.We were then approached by a waiter Christian who asked if we wanted to move we quickly stated yes please. We were then sat towards the window on the other side of the bar. After sitting we see idalia charging through the crowd to look for the waiter who sat us. She was pointing towards our table while talking to the waiter, after the seemingly heated discussion Christian came over to us, I asked if there were any issues with us sitting here, he stated she was saving the table for a birthday AND THAT WE WANTED TO SIT IN THE FRONT NEAR THE DJ. Which was clearly a lie. I told him we indeed did not want to and asked for a table in the back or anywhere else but she said the front table was the only table available. He told us not to worry and apologized for the inconvenience, another waitress who idalia spoke to came over to take our order, we enjoyed the food and drinks, and the much quieter space and saw many additional tables open up as the birthday girl came in. They were sat a few tables away. The restaurant was never fully occupied , tables remain opened throughout the night.
