One and Done! I would not return. Ordered 2 small coffees. No 1/2 and 1/2. "Oh well!" Had I known, I would not have wasted $5.00. We ordered a bagel w/ cream cheese and lox. It was very skimpy on the cream cheese, lox, caper, lettuce, tomato and onion. The bagel was ok.. nothing to rave about. The breakfast burrito w/ bacon was large, filling and greasy! I was expecting nice crispy bacon...instead it contained soggy, bland turkey bacon or Sizzleen. I guess because it's a kosher bagel shop, I should not have assumed I was getting real bacon. The description on the menu states bacon or sausage. It should be clearly stated that it's turkey bacon. I don't mind paying a premium charge, but not for sub-par food. My order would've been different had I realized they did not have 1/2 and 1/2 or real bacon. Knowing that upfront, I would probably give them a 3 star rating.. because again.. the bagels are okay but their filling is sub-par.

Went in for a quick bagel on the way to work. Have been here a few times and it’s usually ok, service always was lacking. Ordered a bagel with cream cheese and when I opened it up at my desk it is covered in some unknown pink substance. When I ordered the man at the front was rude and I felt like I was inconveniencing him. I recommend going elsewhere especially when paying over 6 dollars for a bagel I’d at least expect clean kitchen and not some nasty pink stuff. Had to throw it out because I couldn’t get an answer on what it was. I will not be going back.

Avoid - I went there a couple of days ago to buy bagels. When I got in my car and looked in the bag, half of them were baked very unevenly - almost burnt on the bottom and raw on top. When they're undercooked the texture is very unpleasant - like eating bread dough. I went back in to ask them to replace the badly baked bagels. The old guy at the counter looked at the bagels and said they were fine and he would not replace them. I will not go back - for the cost of 6 bagels, Goldbergs has lost a customer. What a terrible way to run a business.

I'm giving this 2 starts because of the positive experience I've had in the past with just picking up a dozen bagels. However, I will not be coming back here again. I placed an order for pickup and walked into the restaurant to one of the workers criticizing my order and calling it gross. When I spoke up and said that's my order he gave no apology and instead turned to me and let me know that they only had vegetarian bacon. This was not listed on the website and I ordered a BLT.... When I asked if I could change my order he just stared at me. When I asked if I could cancel the order and have my money back he just said no. After this I decided to just wait for my order which was a BLT with a little bit of cream cheese. This same guy then went back to saying that cream cheese didn't belong on a BLT and that they should add cheddar cheese???? Like its his order??? So at this point they've added 3 extra slices of cheddar cheese that was not part of my order and are now loudly talking about how they need to advertise that the bacon is vegetarian. DUH?!?! At this point I just want to go home so I grab my bagel and my partners bagel from the guy and leave. When I get home I find out my partners bagel is filled with raw egg white. Like its DRIPPING out of the sandwich. Not the egg yolk.... the egg white. At this point I went out to Bullfrog and got the same order for $10 less and with all the correct ingredients. Long story short, if you want just a bagel this place is 10/10 but if you want ANYTHING else (yes this includes just a bagel that is cut and toasted) save yourself some time and money and go...

My partner and I would often venture to Goldbergs once or twice a week, but after a series of disappointing experiences we have decided to no longer be customers anymore.

Our last experience there was the final straw.

When ordering bagels with toppings they only seem to put the cream cheese on one side of the bagel. Today I decided to express that I wanted my cream cheese on both sides of the bagel. I ordered nova lox // tomato with veggie cream cheese and my partner ordered the veggie powerhouse bagel with vegan tofu cream cheese. I noticed we were charged for extra cream cheese, so I figured it was because I asked for it on both sides, and an up charge for a vegan spread.

Upon returning home and opened my bagel only to find that there was just the toppings and no cream cheese. The bagel was soggy at this point The cream cheese was in a tiny container and not even enough to cover both sides of the bagel evenly. My partners bagel was in a worse state. The toppings were completely uneatable, the lettuce was wilted, the cucumber was old and shouldn’t have been served. Her vegan spread also came in a similar tiny container.

It is really hard to find a decent bagel in the DC area, and Goldbergs was good enough. No actual New York bagelry would dare be so stingy with their toppings or comprise fresh ingredients. I’m am extremely disappointed to no longer be a patron of this establishment, but I am so so so tired of...

I literally just walked out, and I would have walked out empty-handed if I were not picking up bagels for my wife. I was the only customer in line, and the guy working the counter, who seemed like the owner or at least manager, was pressuring me to make a decision right away. I told him it was my first time there and I was checking out the menu. He then went back to whatever else he was doing, and continued to do that, even when I was ready to order. He then acted like I was an idiot because I didn't know exactly how his crappy, poorly laid out menu worked. No help with explaining what was what, but instead he had the attitude of an autistic child upset because he wasn't going to get his snack before naptime was over. I first wanted to punch him in his stuffy face, and then wanted to cuss him out and walk out, but alas, I wanted these bagels for my wife. So, I just ordered and let him drop my credit card and then say he'll let me know when the food is ready. When it was, I got a 'here.' I have not been this angry at a customer service person in a long while! Good thing there is a place like Yelp and Google to let other customers know what to expect when visiting here for the first time. On Thanksgiving, no less! You don't want customers? You don't like money? Hate people? Screw this guy and his crappy little business. I've had better customer service in...
