Surplus City — Local services in Cumberland

This place has a weird collection of odds and ends. It's not a home Depot: you wouldn't go expecting to get everything on your list for an automotive or home improvement project, but they have a lot of little pieces you can't get anywhere else and they have scrap steel, short pieces of chain, all thread, and bins of random steel parts (springs, gears, pulleys) that are really useful for finishing projects. They also have aisles full of "normal" tools and supplies, grouped by task (plumbing, electrical, roofing, automotive, etc). They have an aisle of army surplus, and an aisle of paint. They sell 50 caliber ammo cans, 55 gallon drums, Hickory axe handlers, and "loud" and "quiet" bare mufflers. There is a whole other half to the store which has sewing and crafting supplies. There is a very small toy type section in the middle. They have public restrooms but nowhere to change a baby. The store is basically a large warehouse with shelving and racks. I wish it was closer. This place is amazing. Eclectic mix of products and kind of hit or miss with what they have, but cheap prices. We stopped in for my wife to pick up some fabric planning a quick in and out because we had the dog with us. Found out they are pet friendly so we all went in and browsed. While my wife got her fabric (side note: look at fabric carefully she has gotten some with small holes in the past) the dog and I cruised the right side of the store. Surplus City is exactly what you'd expect a surplus store to be. They have a great selection of items for home improvement, yard work, construction, maintenance and household items.

I would highly recommend Surplus City before Home Depot or Lowe's for many items. I always check with Surplus City first and I always save money!!!
