Upon arrival the man in front asked my name , I told him and he acknowledged it was there but still asked for identification. He then did not want to give me the desserts I ordered saying the receipt only had one of 2 desserts on it. As I pointed out to him the receipt clearly had 2 desserts listed , he kept saying “ but it’s only one price. Basically , the receipt had what I ordered but only charged me for one. I paid for my second cake with cash and he hands me my change saying “ Here” . I look at this man and ask “ Excuse Me?” He then forgets to give me the Cole slaw which is supposed to come with the platters. I bring it to his attention and he begrudgingly gives it to me. As I’m trying to look through my order he makes a comment that I need to move. There was no one behind me, till a couple of minutes later . I get home and realize he did not give me the fountain drinks I was supposed to have , my nephew’s kids plate did not have the fries and me son’s steak and shrimp sub did not have shrimp ! Will not return !! And that rude man who seemed to be operating in a lead position needs to have extensive training on customer service! The African-American community is keeping this business open and should not have to deal with condescending service from this place. The food was acceptable- nothing special. This is the District...
Read moreI tend to strongly encourage support of establishments in my neighborhood, but unfortunately I will not be returning here.
I ordered a three-choice combo with catfish nuggets, wings, and shrimp. The food was beneath sub-par, actually it was worse than that. After waiting a while for my food, the catfish was still undercooked, not well seasoned, and way too fishy and oily. I ended up spitting some of it out, which no one should have to do. The wings were just ok. I had to pick thru those as well. The bread was not fresh. I ate the shrimp....it's really hard to mess those up.
I heard rave reviews about Sharks in other cities like Chicago, but this isn't it. It was a complete waste of my money........and calories for that matter.
If you are looking for something similar, I would recommend Hip Hop Chicken and Fish. They have their issues, but the food would be much better and not as much of a regret.
I try to give fair and balanced reviews, but this one star was well earned.
One last comment: there are food service establishments that take great pride in their product and what they serve to their customers (no matter who they may be)......and others do not. I feel like the staff who were working and serving today did not have that sense of pride, and as such did not put that effort into their food product in...
Read moreMask sign on door, owner didn’t have face covered and was coughing. (I should have turned away then) ordered 4 wings and 4 pieces of whiting. The whiting is not whiting and has skin on the back, the wings are small. After receiving my food one guy asked me what type of sauce I wanted and when I told him he threw his hands up saying no no no no that’s a special sauce it costs $1. Wow $1 would not have been an issue however that is NOT how you conduct business. You do not yell at your customers as if they can not pay or aren’t willing to pay for a $1 item. The bread that came with the fish was hard. That was my first and last time ever in this establishment. I do not recommend eating here as the food is over priced and not worth the money. Please get real whiting fillets for your orders and regular size chicken wings, along with fresh bread. If you want Sharks the drive to Minnesota Ave is well worth it! These people are not...
