This is a convenient Starbucks location on my morning commute to work. I love their Chai Tea, hot or frozen, and their scones. The seating areas and bathrooms are mostly clean, and I appreciate the gender neutral bathrooms. Another garbage can is needed near the front entrance. The staff is mainly friendly, and there is a sign posted in the window about inclusiveness. However, as a late-middle-aged person, I will say that I am not always treated well there. Granted, this location is close to Towson University (my alma mater), and usually full of students. However, a few of the teenaged/early-20s young ladies employed there can be less than patient, less than friendly, and I have even been the recipient of eye-rolling twice. Does inclusiveness not also pertain to people of my generation? Or is ageism acceptable at Starbucks? Well, my lack of tipping on those occasions was also a statement about the poor service I received on those visits.
Update from 12-16-24: The young man who took my order was both professional and polite. However, I emphasized "no whipped cream" on my drink... and there was whipped cream added. This is a health concern for me, as I am very limited in both how much sugar, and how much dairy, I can have daily (for separate health issues). I'd appreciate it if staff members could be more careful about order details... it's not always a picky-customer issue; it can be a...
Read moreI have a special way I like my lattes. The Barista Makayla did a phenomenal job, paying great attention to detail & excellence in making my drink, that I ended up ordering 3 of them while hanging out working on my laptop, they were so delicious. The best version of my special latte I've had. Nikola, another Coffee Bar Attendant, was especially attentive as I hung out at Starbucks for 2 hrs & ordering different items during that period of time. He is very friendly & clearly intelligent and engaging. I will be coming here again, even tho it is a half-hour drive, as the various Starbucks near me have reigned in their services, including removing access to all wall electrical outlets, causing fewer customers to be around or even come to the stores, making them lonely places to hang out. The atmosphere at this Starbucks on York & Burke is warm, friendly & lively while remaining sufficiently quiet, making it easy to work here. Great atmosphere...
Read moreEarlier today, I went through the drive-thru and had an absolutely amazing experience. My friend and I were looking to get some Egg Nog Lattes, and they were great, but the service was incredible! Pulling up to the speaker, I always have a hard time placing my order cause I either get nervous or forget what I need. Our order taker was so kind and patient, which was so nice! We pulled up to the window and got the same person there, and she continued to be such an amazing host. She got to know us, took interest in us, and had such a positive aura. Even though it was such a small interaction, it really stuck with me. I know how difficult it is to work during a time like this, much less maintain a positive outlook with everything going on. I was very thankful for her being so kind at a time when it means the most. I unfortunately did not get her name, but thank...
