Updog Studios — Local services in Towson

We have been looking for a regularly scheduled, heated, in-person (with great vibe) yoga practice in the Baltimore area since the majority of our studios had closed during the pandemic. As faithful YogaWorks members since before Covid, it was important to us to try and find something that reasonably mirrored what had been such a foundation in our lives. We have found all of that, and more, in UpDog Studios in Towson. Susan and her merry band of legit teachers have provided us with what we had been missing for a few years and couldn't replicate in our own (and more than adequate) home studio practicing with our beloved teachers, albeit online. I could easily describe the ample and clean facilities, the very generous pricing, abundant class scheduling with quality instruction. All of that is there. Those are tangible things one comes to truly expect from a successful business. What has been missing in the years since Yogaworks closed is a sense of community and investment in the students practices and who they are as people. This is what has set this studio apart and why UpDog has become our new yoga home. Is UpDog the ONLY studio we practice at? No. But certainly it is the foundation of our practice. We have made friends with practitioners and brought friends with us from other practices and studios. My first experience at Updog Studios was a 75-minute Hot Power Yoga class taught by Susan. Prior to this, I’d practiced yoga for several years via Youtube and Patreon, but this was my first hot studio class. While many of the physical poses were familiar, the positive energy emanating from the others within the studio was a new experience to me, and I was immediately hooked. Needless to say, my two-week trial quickly transitioned to a longer-term membership. Since that time, I’ve taken an additional 50+ classes and my visits to the studio are frequently the highlight of my day.

The opportunity to see familiar friendly faces, engage in a strong movement practice, and ground myself mentally on a daily basis has been extremely valuable for my overall well-being.
