Consistently bad. I hadn't been back anything besides breakfast for about a year, even though they're about a mile from my house. The last time was due to buying a $7 salad that was half empty. I asked why as it was handed to me and was told that HR instructed them to make them half the size. When I said "For the same price?" they said yes. No problem... give me my money back. Only then did I get a full sized salad. Maybe they still do that, I wouldn't know.
This time I ordered a Baconator fries, which is fries with shredded cheese, cheese sauce and lots of bacon hence the baconator part. I placed it through the Wendy's app.
I often order this and sometimes the bacon and cheese baked potato and for some reason asking for no cheese sauce becomes quantum physics. Almost every time another Wendy's in Rockville screws that up. I was near this one in Gaithersburg so I decided to roll the dice. Baconator fries with bacon, shredded cheese, no cheese sauce. Bad move.
I got the order as pictured. After I lol'd I took it to the counter, showed them the fries, reminded them that is was a Baconator fries order and was told "We left the cheese sauce off!". Great, gold star for that part of the task. I asked if this was how much bacon comes on the baconator fries and was again told about the omission of the cheese sauce. Great, thanks. Where's the bacon? Is this what I'm supposed to get?
"Well, what do you want?" đ
"An order of Baconator fries... with bacon. Just give me some bacon to put on my order".
"Give it to me, I'll make a new order"
"I don't need a new order, just give me some bacon".
"Give it to me, I'll make a new order".
"I would rather have you give me bacon and let me put it on than have someone do who knows what to a replacement order placed by a manager who seems worked up over a problem their crew caused".
This conversation occured in front of a counter person who had nothing to do with it and she seems to understand the absurdity of this because she kept looking at me and smiling. I smiled back, it's just food. Mistakes can happen, handling one like this almost seem like an episode of "Punk'd".
The manager finally brought me some bacon. In the past this store has shortchanged me on food and argued about it, put mayonaise on a sandwich and argued that I asked for it (from a lifelong mayo hater), looked at this order, saw the scrap of bacon and basically said what's the problem?
If I have some free time I might go back just to see how much more ludicrous the service can get. Then again, no. Good luck.
They have gotten breakfast sandwiches correct the majority of times. Apparently "no cheese sauce" or "no mayo" triggers something. đ
Update: Over the last year or so this location has greatly improved. They now get my orders right on a regular basis. Keep up...
Read moreArrived at Contour Road location. Placed order and made the mistake of ordering a potato. The associate gave me the frosty I ordered and asked me to pull the side parking lot. After 25 min. of waiting still no food. My frosty was no longer frosty...just liquid Chocolate! I drove around back to drive thru and the associates says oh your food is ready. They forgot to bring it out apparently. He said a co-worker came out but I sat in one place for 25 min. For a potato. Very unacceptable. No apology from the female supervisor or the male associate with curly hair. Just nothing but an argument about not giving me my money back. They offered no compensation for the liquid frosty or for the now over 30 min I had to wait for food. By the time the female supervisor came over she only spoke to tell me she could not refund my credit card. Normally all Wendys leave at least one something out of your order and you have to go back but to not get the food is a all new low! Why give the frosty to melt while you wait? Need training!
I will stick with McDonalds or KFC. Wendyâs staff is inferior to other restaurants. Much worst is the fact that the curly head male associate started speaking in Spanish to the Supervisor...not realizing I am Dominican! Very rude unprofessional and no knowledge of good customer service! Why do they assume customers donât speak Spanish in Montgomery County? Son estupidos!
Donât order the potato...

After several tries the machine would recognize my phone. So? I asked my daughter for her card. Ok fine. Cashier then decides the card didnât go through so I pull up the order from the bank end. Wendyâs charged me $7.19. She tells me âbut your total is $9.cxâ Ok, maam well I didnât ring myself up. Thatâs what you charged me. She goes on to tell me my balance is 9.xx. So? I ask if sheâs refunding me the 7.19 bc Iâve already paid that. Sheâs exasperated with ME bc sheâs wrong and just blankly staring back at me. She asks me to just give her $2. Ok. Listen? I tried Apple Pay. Had to use a card. I donât have cash. So sheâs just staring and asking me about $2 bc I paid for the car behind me. Again? Like I rang myself up. After another person appears she tells me she made a mistakeâŚyes I KNOW!!! And can I âjust cooperateâ? Only? Iâve been trying to âcooperateâ but sheâs just standing there blankly asking me to pay an additional 9 dollars or hand her $2 cash. âIâm sorry for the error on my partâŚyour remaining balance isâ wouldâve been the appropriate dialogue and an opportunity for me to pay it by the same method. But? Instead? âCan you just cooperateâ bc she couldnât figure out the math as if I did something...
